Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a related field (Upper Second Class) from a recognized University
Have at least three (3) years working experience in a similar position
Job Responsibilities
Assess clinical education needs and patient/client teaching needs and utilizing a variety of methods
Coordinating the educational field trips for the student nurses
Demonstrate patient care in the clinical units of hospitals
Identifies resource needs in the Nursing Skills Lab and submits to the Coordinator
In liaison with the Coordinator Attachments maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students
Instructing /teaching student nurses on patient care
Instructing students in the principles and applications of biological and psychological subjects related to nursing
Keeping abreast of development in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues and participating in conferences, seminars, courses and workshops
Liaising with the head of departments in the health institutions regarding students practicals
Offering support to the student nurses while encouraging them with classroom work in order to perform well in the clinical setting
Preparing clinical setting in the University Nursing Skills Lab
Preparing the student’s clinical placement schedules
Supervise student’s clinical work
Working in collaboration with nursing lecturers in the skills lab
