Overall purpose of the job

Reporting to the Chef, the incumbent will assist in the implementation of hospitality policies, procedures and processes particular in catering unit.

Job specifications (duties)

The specific duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: -

• Assisting in preparing and cooking of food as per the approved recipes;
• Assisting in maintain set hygiene standards in the kitchen;
• Following established kitchen work schedules;
• Assisting in carrying out daily stock take of supplies and monitoring stock levels of food supply; and
• Assisting in maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen.

Persons’ specifications

For appointment to the grade, one must have:

• Certificate in Food Production from a recognized institution;
• Fulfil the requirements of chapter six of the constitution; and
• Proficiency in Computer Applications.

Note: Staff with KCSE mean grade D (Plain) who are interested but lack professional qualification are encouraged to apply
