Access to good agricultural advice/knowledge continues to be a significant challenge for the agricultural industry hoping to support smallholder farmers. In most cases, the answers to farmers problems are readily available however access remains the issue. Digital farming t is aiming to provide this knowledge through mobile phone technology; however, we firstly need to identify the issues and their root cause of the problem.

Responsibilities

• Collect farmland information including 3,000 valid pictures per month and upload the collected pictures /information daily to Yara drive (Data collection App)
• Scout for fields healthy growth stages and those affected by pest, disease, deficiencies in a 50km radius around your assigned location.
• Interract closely with smallholder farmers and report to the assigned Agronomist all Agronomy related issues observed in your assigned location.

Profile

• Bachelor degree in Agriculture or related academic discipline
• Field experience in maize crop
• Strong knowledge about the major pests, diseases and nutrient deficiency symptoms in maize crop
• Effective communication skills
