Duties and responsibilities
- Identify areas of Environmental concerns and ensure they are sufficiently addressed and incorporated in Environmental Management Plans;
- Prepare work plans for all environmental activities and supervise their implementation;
- Collaborate with community and other stakeholders in environmental conservation activities;
- Document and promote best environmental practices;
- Periodic preparation and submission of Environmental Progress Reports;
- Facilitate and promote Citizen Participation in management of environmental affairs;
- Liaise with other County Government officers in developing strategies for better environmental service delivery;
- Ensure compliance and enforcement of Environmental Regulations;
- Develop and update Environmental Databases; |
- Mobilize the public to participate in environmental conservation, landscaping and management activities in liaison with NGOs;
- Conduct environmental education and public awareness on environmental issues; and
- Any other duties assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Kenyan Citizenship;
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning and Management, Environmental Science Studies or any other related Degree from a recognized University in Kenya;
- Demonstrate outstanding professional competence and integrity in work performance and results;
- Thorough understanding of Environmental laws and regulations;
- Ability to conduct research, organize and present information, write and compile analytical reports for presentation; and
- Member of a relevant professional body will be added advantage.
Terms of Service: Unless indicated, all the terms for the positions are on Permanent and Pensionable.:
Remuneration: Salaries and allowances as determined. by the Salaries & Remuneration Commission (SRC).
