Senior Technical Advisor – Health Policy and Systems Strengthening- Tana River at Reproductive Health Network Kenya

RHNK, a leading national SRHR organization in Kenya, seeks to recruit a Senior Technical Advisor – Health Policy and Systems Strengthening, for a multiyear project aimed at improving governance, accountability, and strategic partnerships for strengthened and inclusive health systems in this county in Kenya. This position will provide technical leadership, overseeing the coordination and day to day implementation of the systems strengthening initiative. You will work closely with consortium partners and provide overall project management support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with the project
• Provide technical assistance to counties including capacity building on policy development, implementation, review and monitoring and ensure effective supervision of other staff.
• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with national and county level target policymakers, government and ministerial officials and staff, strategic partners, and key opinion leaders.
• Provide technical and policy advisory support and thought partnerships to decision makers at national and county levels.
• Provide technical assistance to consortium civil society organizations and other actors on the development and implementation of effective system strengthening strategies at national and county level.
• Represent RHNK in meetings at national and county levels to support the forging relations with the GOK, CBOs, other stakeholders, and the community.
• Represent RHNK in key technical working groups (TWG) and strategic forums at national and subnational level to contribute thought partnerships to policy making processes.
• Take lead in providing technical assistance, guidance, and capacity strengthening for project staff including in the development of tools, templates, fact sheets and policy briefs.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the donor

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, social sciences or any other related field.
• Master's degree in public health, sexual reproductive health and policy health, health systems strengthening, social sciences or a related field is an added advantage.
• 0ver 10 years relevant experience in working in both Public and Private health sector.
• Experience in implementing and managing multiyear donor funded projects.
• Demonstrated leadership experience is preferred.
• Experience working and managing complex partner consortiums.
• Experience working with the Ministry of Health and County Health Management Teams required.
• Deep understanding of health sector governance, devolution, and county structures.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, and presentation skills required.
• Demonstrated experience in capacity building of government, civil society, and community teams.
• Demonstrated experience in managing teams and supervising staff in multiple locations.
• Good relationship building and partnership management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and county government officials.
• Maturity and ability to remain calm, focused and solution-oriented while working under pressure is a must have for this position.
• Demonstrated in-depth understanding of Kenya healthcare system, particularly the public health system.
