Assemble, organize and archive raw footage and completed projects,
Select scenes, add graphics, sound effects, subtitles, and transition
Edit raw footage into polished videos for broadcast and digital platforms, including investigative documentaries, short features, and social media content
Colour correct and sound mix videos to meet high editorial and technical standards
Collaborate with journalists, producers, directors, and other team members to understand, interpret and shape the desired outcome and creative vision
Incorporate music, dialogue, graphics, and effects to enhance the video content
Ensure consistency in style, colour grading, and overall quality of finished videos ∙
Manage video file formats and ensure final products meet technical specifications
Manage media assets and ensure organized file storage
Review and make revisions based on feedback from stakeholders
Keep up-to-date with the latest editing technologies and industry trends
Stay up to date with editing trends, tools, and techniques
Requirements & Qualifications
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.
Strong understanding of video codecs, file formats, and post-production workflows.
Solid understanding of narrative structure, timing, and visual storytelling, excellent sense of timing, pacing, and visual storytelling.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment, delivering work within tight timelines and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Adaptability to changing priorities and editorial direction, coupled with strong attention to detail and editorial judgment.
Passion for impactful storytelling and social justice.
Degree or certification in film production, media, experience with motion graphics, color grading, or audio mixing a plus
Work Experience
Proven work experience as a video editor (at least 2 years, preferably in a media/production house) with a strong portfolio.
Familiarity with investigative or documentary journalism is an advantage
