Working closely with other Journalists in the service, the successful candidate will create content for a variety of broadcast and digital media platforms, in multiple formats including audio and video.
You will use your knowledge of the digital media market to produce interesting news content for our website and social media platforms.
You will work across all BBC Afaan Oromo platforms to ensure the highest quality content is created for our audiences and conforms to BBC Values and editorial standards.
Are you the right candidate?
The successful candidate will be an experienced Journalist with a full command of Afaan Oromo (written and spoken) and a broadcast-standard of English. Knowledge of other Ethiopian languages would be an added advantage.
Experience of digital newsgathering, original journalism, using various cameras and filing video from the field is important. You will have a track record of filming and editing high quality video content, with knowledge of working with Final Cut Pro and other tools and applications as required.
