    Chief Strategy Officer

    Role of the Chief Strategy Officer

    As the Chief Strategy Officer, you will be tasked with developing the business to guarantee the growth and future of the company, and to ensure increase in revenue streams. You will be responsible for maximizing profits by developing and implementing marketing strategies that promote products and services, and match customer requirements, as the company seeks to grow and establish itself in the Energy, Mining and upstream Oil & Gas sectors.

    With a strong arsenal of techniques and methods to promote our products and services, and an abundance of ideas for building efficient strategies, you will spearhead creative campaigns that can be harnessed to expand our company’s footprints.

    Primarily, you will be required to enhance the operations of the business and position in the market by looking to identify new markets, new partnerships, new ways to reach existing markets, and new product or service offerings to better meet the needs of existing markets; and to use these opportunities to bring in more revenue.

    The goal is to reach out to the market and cultivate the customer’s interest in our products and services in ways that will increase our market share and facilitate our continuous growth

    Key Accountabilities of the Chief Strategy Officer

    You are accountable for delivering on the key accountabilities for this role, which will be discussed and agreed with you as part of the group’s performance management process. These include:

    • Developing growth strategies in accordance with the overall company goals and vision.
    • Planning, developing and implementing effective marketing campaigns.
    • Leading sales strategies to increase market share and secure business retention
    • Generate and close sales opportunities with Oil and Gas Companies and Energy Institutional Entities
    • Conducting research and analyzing data to identify and define clientele base.
    • Prospecting, developing and closing deals that will drive new revenue streams and new customers.
    • Undertaking detailed ongoing analysis of marketing campaigns to ensure targets are met.
    • Identifying and recommending opportunities to provide additional value through add-on products/services.

    Key Competencies/Skills

    To be successful in this position, the candidate should possess the following skills:

    • Sound understanding of the Freight Forwarding, Logistics and Supply Chain industry
    • Deep understanding of commercial strategies & development
    • Proven experience in generating and closing sales
    • Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets
    • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Commercial awareness and business acumen
    • Deep understanding of changing market dynamics
    • Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy
    • Analytical skills to evaluate marketing campaigns
    • Digital marketing/advertising expertise
    • Ability to adapt in a dynamic and changing work environment
    • Strong influencing and negotiation skills

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain & Logistics, Finance, Marketing, or other Related Field.
    • Extensive Experience in Business Development in a highly competitive sector
    • Proven sales track record as a Business Development manager, or in similar relevant role
    • Extensive Marketing Experience especially from the Mining, Energy and upstream Oil & Gas sectors.
    • A proven track record of implementing successful marketing strategies
    • In-depth knowledge of market research data, data analysis and statistics
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Analytical data-driven problem solver
