    Data and Analytics Manager

    Job Description

    • Drives the critical and commercial thinking around where analytics can have the most value in the business, concentrating on maximizing return on investment.
    • Evangelist and flag-carrier for Data and Analytics, leads data and analytics transformation across the company, especially monetization of data.
    • Acts as an “interpreter” between business leaders and technical data and analytics specialists.
    • Tracks KPIs to measure performance and success of data and analytics initiatives in the company.
    • Communicates and champions results and business impacts of insights initiatives to stakeholders.
    • Able to challenge the business constructively and supports the MD and CLT in strategic choices through a mix of business acumen and quantitative analysis.
    • Local guardian of VE-wide data and analytics methods & tools, works with the Central Data and Analytics function to drive local implementation of the DNA programme and owns the engagement model in the company.
    • Leads the local Data and Analytics team; recruits, trains, develops and manages data analyst(s).
    • Provides guidance to the team in the development, testing and presentation of hypotheses-driven analysis.
    • Identifies and recommends new ways to drive efficiency by streamlining business processes.
    • Advises Central team for the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyse businesses, functions, operations and performance metrics.
    • Ensures accuracy of data and analytics deliverables in compliance with data policies and processes developed centrally.
    • Functional lead for data governance in the company, to support compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements

    Requirement/Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Business, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering). Postgraduate qualifications an advantage, but not compulsory.
    • 7-8 years’ professional experience, including 1-year minimum in a position of monitoring, managing, manipulating and drawing insights from data, and at least 3 years’ experience leading a team at management level.
    • Demonstrable experience in formulating and solving business problems using mathematical/statistical constructs in order to derive insight.
    •  Working knowledge of data disciplines: data quality, data governance, data protection, data architecture, data mapping, data engineering, data science, data exploitation and data visualization.
    • Working knowledge of analytics disciplines: descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics.
    • Familiarity with analytics techniques, e.g. Regression Analysis, Time-series, Monte Carlo modelling, Clustering etc.
    • Working knowledge of SAP S4/Hana.
    • Proven capability to translate analysis into strategic recommendations with a sound understanding of strategy.
    • Strong customer focus and business skills, self-starter and results driven with the drive and persistency to perform, even at times of great change and under significant pressure.
    • Very good communication and presentation skills.
    • Very good stakeholder management skills; ability to challenge tactfully in discussion without alienating.
    • Working knowledge of data visualisation tools: e.g. Tableau, Alter
    • Solid business acumen in at least one of: energy, retail, FMCG, supply and distribution.
    • Understanding of robotic process automation, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
    • Experience in solving business problems using at least one of the following: Python, R, SQL, NoSQL, SAS, SPSS, Java, NLP, Tensorflow and MATLAB.
