    Finance and Administrative Officer

    Job Description

    • Supporting FLR office with all administrative matters
    • Effectively coordinating with the staff of the Finance Team at the Country Office
    • Processing cheques, bank transfers and deposits at the bank
    • Handle bank and Cash book
    • Ensuring that financial and administrative regulations are complied with
    • Monitor income, expenditure and the monthly bank reconciliation
    • Manage the processing of requests for project funds
    • Monitor real accounts (payables, receivables) and reports regularly to the officer responsible for the contract and cooperation and the Head of Finance & Administration
    • Ensure realistic receivables list is maintained at all times
    • Check the vouchers and receipts submitted by advisors for completeness and allocation to cost units and categories, and corrects these where necessary
    • Advise on financial aspects of projects
    • Organising vouchers and other accounts documents in readiness for internal control and audit
    • Prepare travel claims and transport for partners when necessary
    • Calculate national travel claims and travel advances
    • Follow up on pending travel advances and ensures refunds are made where necessary
    • Carry out accounting tasks using WINPACCS Cashbook, prepares monthly accounts and monthly bank reconciliation statement
    • Submit the end-of-month accounts from the project accounting and vouchers (through or from WINPACCS) to the Head of Finance & Administration for approval and forward them to GIZ Country Office
    • Routinely monitor costs in accordance with project requirements

    Requirement/Skills

    • Minimum requirement Bsc/BA in accounting, finance or similar area, MBA would be an dded advantage
    • 4-5 years professional experience in a comparable position
    • In-depth knowledge of accounting software (e.g. WinPACCS Cashbook)
    • Good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
    • Confidential handling of data and information
    • Very good knowledge of the English language, ideally a knowledge of German
    • Excellent team player
    • Result oriented performance
    • Attention to detail and quality performance
    • Very good communication skills
    • Proactive attitude towards work, personnel and institutional changes
    • Punctual attitude
    • Willingness to update skills as required by the tasks to be performed
