    Forestry Research and Development and Nursery Internship

    Millar Cameron has the pleasure of supporting an exciting agribusiness in their recruitment for an Intern, there are multiple areas from which the successful candidate can select their particular area of interest. The internship is based in Ghana, focusing on the forestry sector. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Research and Development, the internship is a free programme designed to motivate students to learn about the forestry sector and to gain research experience and knowledge.

    Our client are seeking candidates who are passionate in research to assist them in one of the following areas:

    • Clonal development and evaluation in tree species
    • Nursery management practices
    • Development of breeding strategies in tree species
    • Growth and genetic evaluation studies
    • Silviculture management practices in forestry plantations 

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Students pursuing Bachelor's/Master’s degree required in life science such as forestry, environmental studies, science, natural resources from recognised universities.
    • A very high competence and understanding of the above areas is an absolute requirement (do not apply if you have limited understanding of these areas).
    • Ghana or ECOWAS nationals a distinct preference.
    • Basic research skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
    • Highly responsible, self-motivated
    • Detail-oriented, organized and efficient

    The internship duration is 1 - 3 months, with flexible start and end date
