Business Intelligence & System Fellow (3-6 Month Fellowship) at PowerGen Renewable Energy

Job Description

You will be responsible for supporting the setup of the core backbone of our business – NetSuite, our ERP system. The aspects of NetSuite will cut across all 10+ teams at the company and across multiple countries, entities, and offices. You will work closely with our Business Intelligence Director - our dynamic in-house Business Systems Guru – and a Business Systems Administrator to continue with the implementation and management of the use of NetSuite. What You’ll Make Happen:

• Implementation and management of supply chain processes within NetSuite to:
• Track and report on project-related items, including cost, margin, inventory, personnel time;
• Maximize visibility and accuracy of inventory and equipment purchased/used, for every purchase order, transfer order, sales order, etc;
  integrate inventory tracking systems and processes with financial management and reporting
• Implementation of accounting processes within NetSuite, which include but are not limited to:
• Automation of our Fixed Asset Management requirements
• Appropriately recognizing deferred costs and revenue
• Ensure intercompany eliminations are correctly reflected in period close;
• Increase efficiency for timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial close; etc.
• Integration of NetSuite and our other technology platforms
• Reconciling data between platforms
• Configuring data within the platforms such that information can be appropriately shared between them
• Setting up tools and processes for transferring data between systems
• Supporting the roll out of a new document management system for PowerGen
• Improvement in efficacy or efficiency of any existing processes related to tagging of projects and grants, intercompany transactions, purchase orders and billing, sales orders and invoicing, fixed asset capitalization, etc.
• Development and professional growth in the personnel you collaborate with – particularly within the Business Intelligence team.

You Already Have:

• 3+ years’ work experience in consulting, corporate finance, accounting, business system configuration, and/or operations management
• Prior experience implementing ERP systems; direct experience with NetSuite preferred
• Prior experience with supply chain and inventory operations
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and Microsoft Office products
• Masters in Finance, CPA, MBA, or comparable professional experience strongly preferred
• Work experience in Kenya or Tanzania preferred
• Experience and proven ability to collaborate across teams
• Experience in the energy, clean tech or utility sectors preferred
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Practiced flexibility to lend a hand wherever needed
• Fluent in both English and Swahili preferred
