    Artisan Upholster III - 4 Posts

    Salary Scale: Ksh.19, 340 – Ksh. 24, 470 P.M

    • Basic Salary: Ksh. 19,340 per month
    • House Allowance – Depending on duty station
    • Leave Allowance – as existing in the Civil/Service
    • Commuter Allowance – Ksh. 3,000 per Month
    • Medical Cover – as provided by the Government
    • Annual Leave - 30 working days per financial year

     Requirement for Appointment:

    For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:-

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D Plain or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
    • Government Trade/Grade Tests III in upholstery from a recognized institution; and
    • Proficiency in computer applications

    Duties and Responsibilities

    This will be the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a Senior Officer. Duties will entail:

    • taking part in selecting of suitable fabrics, vinyl, leather or other materials for upholstery works;
    • taking part in maintaining upholstery equipment and machines;
    • taking part in repairing upholstery panel and cushion covers;
    • adhering to safety protocols in the provision of upholstery works;
    • keeping cleanliness in working area and proper disposal of workshop waste; and
    • collecting data on records, information and inventory pertaining to upholstery works.
