Assisatnt Director Technical Vocational Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Education or Technology Education from a recognized institution;
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Science /arts with a post –graduate diploma in Education from a recognized institution;
Master’s degree in any of the following discipline, Education or technology Education from a recognized institution
OR
Master’s degree in Science /Arts from a recognized institution as an added advantage
Senior Management course lasting not less than (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution
Must have served for a minimum of 3 years in the grade of principal vocational training officer.
Demonstrated professional merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Possess Leadership skills, Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Organizational skills, Ability to work under pressure, Negotiation skills, Ability to build and lead cohesive teams, Problem solving skills
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and integrity.
Job Description
Coordinating equitable distribution of materials, tools and equipment to Vocational Training Centres
Monitoring implementation of curricular and co- curricular activities to maintain standards
Assessing upcoming Vocational Training Centres’ capacity for registration as training institutions and examination centres,
Coordinating the identification, promotion and development of innovative initiatives in Vocational Training Centres,
Monitoring the development and maintenance of skills inventories in Vocational Training Centres.
Promoting and developing talent through creative arts (music, art and drama) managing inter – Vocational Training Centres’ exchange programs to enhance learning,
Popularizing Vocational Training Centres to target communities,
Establishment and maintenance of personnel records in the Section/Department.
