Contracts Coordinator (Mechanical) - Nairobi at Bechtel Corporation

Position Summary

Deployed to help a specific data center project (in this case Nairobi), the Contract Coordinator will report to the Site Superintendent. This position demands excellent communication skills and a strong collaborative working ethic.

Responsibilities

The Contract Coordinator (Mechanical) will:

For Their Assigned Contracts

• coordinate the day-to-day construction activities
• undertake weekly work planning
• deconflict access to work areas
• maintain daily reports
• ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements
• Collaborate with Field Engineers to ensure compliance with RFI/FCD/NCR processes to maintain configuration control through to construction completion
• Provide safety leadership to contractors and participate in ES&H walk downs
• Assure adherence to contract, design, and quality requirements
• Monitor quality inspections performed by contractors to assure compliance with inspection and test plans
• Help development of trends for proposed design changes or any change that impacts the cost and schedule of the work

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction means, methods and materials relating to mechanical commodities
• Working knowledge of subcontract management
• Ability to drive a Zero Incident Philosophy
• Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to influence external stakeholders
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with various stakeholders
