The counter team is responsible for ensuring our customers have a smooth and effective import / export release process. They deliver the highest levels of quality and create value for customers as well as for Hapag-Lloyd.
Job Responsibilities:
OBL issuance and acceptance
Container releases - Print delivery orders as well as make amendments, when and if needed, and update it in the custom system immediately
Check & verify that documents presented at counter are correct and as per agents manual, thereby ensuring quick and smooth delivery of documents to customers
Local document stamping- Ensure mandatory requirements have been fulfilled prior to release of Original Bills of Ladings or Delivery Orders to customer
Payment postings - Work on cash outstanding on daily basis to reconcile accounts and identify missed collection cases
Maintaining Blank BL form stationary record as per the process for OBL printing facility at customer premises
Process BL amendments in urgent cases
Be proactive in responding to daily emails
Requirements & Job Qualifications
University degree or equivalent
Very good command of written and spoken English
Working knowledge of MS Office
Core understanding of the Kenyan regulations governing the documentation required for release of cargo.
Understanding of the B/L pre-checks prior to signing
Dispute resolution while adhering to internal regulations and KPI’s.
Able to work well with others and follow guidelines
