Dental Specialist I (Paediatric) at Kiambu County Government

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

• Be a Kenyan Citizen;
• Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery from a recognized institution;
• Master's degree in Paediatric Dentistry an institution recognized by the Kenya
• Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council:
• Registered with the Kenya Medical practitioners and Dentists Boards;
• Registered as a Medical/Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council:
• Have a Valid Practicing License;
• Have a Recognition Certificate as a Specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council;
• At least one year post specialization working experience;
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding and commitment to values and principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution;
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment and sensitivity and respect for diversity;
• Must have good inter-personal and communication skills:
• Proficiency in computer applications; and
• satisfy the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive dental care for children;
• Diagnose and treat dental problems such as cavities, gum disease, and injuries;
• Focus on preventive care through education, fluoride treatments, and sealants;
• Handle dental emergencies and treat special needs children;
• Monitor dental growth and development and coordinate early orthodontic evaluations:
• Educate parents on proper oral hygiene for their children:
• Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time.
