Technical Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the CEO, the Digital Platforms & IT Officer shall:
Platform & Systems Management
- Manage and maintain all KEREA ICT systems, including networks, hardware, software, servers, and backups.
- Administer and maintain the USSD, digital marketplace and PAYGO platforms linking financiers, suppliers, installers, and end-users.
- Monitor system uptime, troubleshoot issues, and ensure 99% availability across all digital platforms.
- Manage integrations, APIs, user accounts, permissions, and platform configurations.
- Oversee routine updates, content uploads, plugin management, SEO, and analytics for kerea.org.
- Ensure security, accuracy, backups, and integrity of all digital assets and data.
Customer, Installer & Member Management
- Coordinate onboarding of customers, installers, suppliers, and financiers onto the digital platform.
- Support member onboarding (technical side only) and ensure smooth digital access to member resources.
- Manage complaints logging, tracking, analysis, and escalation in collaboration with the Programmes team.
- Conduct data verification and quality checks across all digital platforms.
IT Support & Cybersecurity
- Provide ICT helpdesk services for the Secretariat—hardware, network, laptop, printer, email, and hosting support.
- Maintain Google Workspace, domain management, and user accounts.
- Implement cybersecurity policies, ensure data protection compliance, and conduct regular IT audits.
- Lead ICT procurement, asset management, vendor supervision, and maintenance schedules.
Innovation & Digital Transformation
- Support digital process automation across departments (membership, programs, finance).
- Prepare system documentation, manuals, and user guides.
- Provide training and capacity-building to staff, members, and project partners on using digital tools.
- Work closely with Solar Mkononi, PURE, and all project teams to align digital systems with project delivery targets.
Reporting
The Digital Platforms & IT Officer shall:
- Prepare periodic analytics dashboards, technical reports, and digital platform performance summaries.
- Maintain logs and documentation of updates, backups, cybersecurity checks, and data management activities.
- Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual digital operations reports to the CEO.
- Perform any other ICT-related duties as assigned by the CEO.

Required Qualifications, Competences & Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience developing web-based systems or digital platforms, preferably in renewable energy, development, digital finance, or SME ecosystems.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining IOT solutions, open-source and web-based systems. Experience in bulk SMS and USSD platforms will be an added advantage
- Strong understanding of data security, cloud solutions, and API integrations.
