Manager, Legal Services at Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC)

Job Description

The job holder reports to the Head of Legal Services. He/She is charged with the following responsibilities:-:

Responsibilities

1. Interprets legal opinions and offers guidance on legal requirements.
2. Co-ordinates the preparation, execution, registration and renewal of debentures, charges and chattels.
3. Ensures proper and safe custody of all legal documentation.
4. Reviews leases and contracts drawn by third parties.
5. Issues instructions to auctioneers, advocates and valuers.
6. Liaises with and supervises external advocates.
7. Represents the Corporation in court.
8. Manages litigation and conveyancing divisions.

 Qualifications and experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Law, applicants with professional Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
2. Diploma in Law [KSL]
3. Advocate of the high court of Kenya
4. 5 years’ experience in a comparable and relevant field/Institution
5. Computer literacy

Job Requirements

Candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity and are thus required to submit clearance certificates from the following institutions: –

1. Kenya Revenue Authority (Tax compliance Certificate)
2. Higher Education Loans Board (clearance Certificate)
3. Criminal investigation Department (Certificate of Good Conduct)
4. EACC (Self Declaration form)
5. CRB Certificate
