To perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, construction equipment, and trailers to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas: -
Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Assess requirement and propose in consultation with workshop manager the specifications for parts and materials needed and duration of the repairs and maintenance.
Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
Account for materials and parts used
Rescue trucks on transit on need basis
Inspection & Diagnostics
Perform inspections to identify wear and tear or potential issues.
Use diagnostic tools and software to assess vehicle performance.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
Report major faults or recurring issues to supervisors.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards.
Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures.
Inventory & Tools Management
Manage tools and equipment responsibly.
Observe security and safety measures of all tools,
Request parts and supplies as needed.
Team Collaboration
Work with other mechanics and departments to ensure timely vehicle availability.
Provide technical guidance to junior staff if required.
