Job Purpose​​​​​​​

The purpose of the job is to facilitate the procurement of goods, works and services, inventory management and disposal in accordance with the Public Procurement Asset Disposal Act (PPADA), 2015, Public Procurement Regulations Disposal Act of 2020 (PPRDA).The job holder will be answerable to senior officers in the division.

Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:-

• Undertaking market research, surveys and analyses;
• Implementing procurement plans and processing purchase requisitions;
• Participating in sourcing, supplier evaluation/rating, inviting offers, negotiations and contracting;
• Drafting of procurement and disposal plans and budgets;
• Drafting bid awards and tender advertisement notices;
• Drafting letters of notification after the tender evaluation;
• Preparing minutes for tender opening exercise and submit to tender evaluation committee;
• Identifying demand, planning and procurement of the items required by the user directorates and divisions;
• Conducting inspection and verification of the items received by the relevant committee;
• Verifying payment documents for goods, works and services delivered/rendered to the Agency by suppliers and other service providers;
• Updating contract details in government portals and Agency websites.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

• Bachelor degree in any of the following disciplines; Supply Chain Management, Commerce (Supplies Management option), Procurement and logistics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Membership to the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) and in good standing; and
• Proficiency in computer applications.
