Job Summary
Our client in the retail and home improvement industry is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of products. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong background in warehouse operations and team leadership. This role requires someone who can drive efficiency, uphold safety standards, and ensure customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Stock Control:
- Organize all merchandise categories according to company operating standards.
- Process and track stock orders, returns, and inter-branch transfers accurately.
- Conduct stock counts regularly and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Dispatch & Delivery Operations:
- Supervise dispatch activities to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Ensure the dispatch team operates efficiently and maintains high customer satisfaction.
- Implement controls to prevent stock handling errors and losses.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Set clear KPIs for the warehouse team and monitor performance.
- Provide hands-on training and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards throughout the warehouse.
- Maintain and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly checklists in line with company requirements.
- Enforce safety protocols for machinery and handling equipment.
Inventory Turnover & Stock Optimization:
- Manage stock turnover and implement efficient inventory replenishment systems.
- Identify and address toxic or slow-moving stock.
- Coordinate with procurement to maintain ideal stock levels.
Visual Merchandising & Display Management:
- Design and maintain visually appealing display boards and lifestyle setups.
- Demonstrate a strong eye for color and product presentation.
- Ensure the warehouse layout supports product accessibility and visual impact.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Valid forklift operating license and hands-on experience with forklift operations.
- Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
- Flexible to work during weekends and public holidays when needed.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and retail product handling is a plus.
- Must be a team player with a proactive, positive, and hands-on approach to leadership.
