    Manager-Marketing & Corporate Communications

    Role Purpose

    The role holder is responsible for developing, planning, budgeting, and implementing marketing strategies for all Jubilee Insurance entities (KE, UG, TZ, MAU, BU). The role will also involve directing and measuring the impact of marketing and public relation strategies implemented internally and externally.

    Main Responsibilities
    Strategy

    • Develop and execute a results-driven, multi-platform communications strategy and plan in line with corporate and brand direction while reflecting local priorities.
    • Strategize and collaborate with the company's Sales and Products teams to develop go-to-market strategies for existing products and services while coming up with new market ideas based on research.
    • Carry out customer research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities in the market that can be exploited and worked on.
    • Plan and spearhead marketing events and other campaigns to strengthen public relations and the company’s presence where it is most impactful.
    • Develop an annual marketing budget and keep track of the resource needs for both long-term and short-term scheduling.
    • Strategize and collaborate with the company's Sales and Products teams to develop go-to-market strategies for existing products and services while coming up with new market ideas based on research.

    Operational

    • Develop the required changes in the digital marketing strategies based on timely data provided by analytical tools.
    • Drive social media efforts on various social networks including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
    • Plan and spearhead marketing events and other campaigns to strengthen public relations and the company’s presence where it is most impactful.
    • Identify and develop vendor relations with external stakeholders for advertising and branding activities and programs.
    • Handle and track all branding and departmental spends in line with the approved Corporate Communication budget.
    • Liaise with regional offices and media houses regarding advertising to ensure the most value for money is derived through media planning and buying.
    • Carry out cost-saving initiatives to ensure value for money spent through negotiations.
    • Developing and executing a results-driven, multi-platform communications strategy and plan in line with corporate and brand direction while reflecting local priorities.
    • Carry out customer research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities in the market that can be exploited and worked on.
    • Plan and spearhead marketing events and other campaigns to strengthen public relations and the company’s presence where it is most impactful.
    • Develop an annual marketing budget and keep track of the resource needs for both long-term and short-term scheduling.
    • Drive social media efforts on various social networks including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
    • Create and expand partnerships with social media influencers to increase the company’s brand reach and strength.
    • Spearhead in developing, managing, and implementing CSI policies.
    • Manage the Jubilee Children’s Fund Project Portfolio and execute CSI Events within the allocated budget.
    • Build a strong working relationship with CSI Partners and manage/evaluate CSI partnerships and their impact.

    Corporate Governance

    • Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices related to marketing & Corporate Communications.
    • Adherence to the laws and regulations of Kenya, the policies and regulations within the insurance industry and all internal company policies and procedures.
    • Ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and establishing mitigation measures against emerging business risks

    • Building the team capabilities and ensuring adequate succession planning within the department
    • Fostering a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good corporate citizenship while maintaining a conducive work environment.

    Qualifications

    Manager - Data Engineering

    Role Purpose

    The Manager-Data engineering will oversee expanding and optimizing of our data architecture and data pipeline with the purpose of improving data analysis and ML workflows. The role holder will be handling the design and construction of scalable data systems and research new use cases for data acquisition.

    Main Responsibilities
    Operational

    • Follow existing processes and work to improve/identify gaps in these processes.
    • Ensure the correct SDLC promotion processes are followed.
    • Follow the correct sign-off processes to ensure that only approved releases are deployed into Production.
    • Ensure that all AWS/Azure development follows CI/CD processes and is repeatable.

    Strategy

    • Design and develop a data estate that is performant, accessible, secure, scalable, maintainable, and extensible. This includes AWS/Azure Data Lake and all other integrating functionalities and layers like ML, Analytics and data science.
    • Design and develop and maintain data pipelines including ML pipelines.
    • Model EDW entities and ensure all data is complete, accurate, timely, and well documented.
    • Work towards the implementation of a true Self-Service analytics platform.
    • Implementation of CI/CD practices within the data platform

    Corporate Governance (Regulatory & Compliance)

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, data privacy, security, and governance requirements.
    • Ensure that all work follows the best security practices and fully adheres to DPA and other data regulations.
    • Ensure that all work follows the correct approval and sign-off process before it is pushed into Production.
    • Ensure that all work is documented and if needed, has a runbook in order to guarantee business continuity and support.
    • Work with others in the team to keep the Data Dictionary and Ubiquitous Language complete and up to date.

    Leadership & Culture

    • Build relationships with members of the data team and the wider business team.
    • Work closely and collaboratively with all members of the data team.
    • Work closely with and learn from tech and team leads and challenge proposed solutions with your own ideas.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors’ degree in IT or related field.
    • Certification in Azure/GCP/AWS preferred.

    Relevant Experience

    • Minimum three years’ experience in a data engineer role or similar.
    • Experience and knowledge of a coding language such as Python specifically data manipulation.
