    Principal Physical Planner- 2 Posts

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning from a recognized institution;
    • Corporate member of Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter);
    • Registered by the Physical Planners Registration Board;
    • Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Duties and Responsibilities Duties
    The Principal Physical Planner reports to the County Director of Physical Planning and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

    • Initiating, preparing and monitoring the implementation of county and local physical development plans;
    • Preparing action plans for specific projects such as residential housing schemes, shopping centers, industrial estates and recreational facilities;
    • Providing advice to government and private agencies on development proposals and plans;
    • Implementing and providing feedback on physical planning guidelines and standards;
    • Undertaking thematic regional studies on matters relating to physical planning;
    • Managing physical planning data;
    • Setting agenda and convening physical planning liaison committee meetings;
    • Keeping record of deliberations and communicating decisions of the physical planning liaison committees;
    • Providing advice on development control;
    • Carrying out public education on physical planning matters;
    • Preparing annual state of physical planning reports on county and local physical development plans; and
    • Any other duty that maybe assigned from time to time

    Terms: Three (3) years contract renewable

    Superintendent Engineer (Civil/Structural )

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution in Kenya;
    • Been registered with the Engineering Registration Board of Kenya (ERB);
    • A current valid annual practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
    • Corporate membership with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK);
    • Demonstrated general administrative ability required for direction, control and implementation of structural programmes including supervision of professional and technical staff; and
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Duties and Responsibilities Duties

    • An officer at this level may be deployed as ahead of a unit at County headquarters or as a sub- county works officer or a County structural engineer.
    • The duties and responsibilities at the Sub-County level will include work in the specialized fields of engineering in one of the following areas of structural, civil and construction duties:
    • Designing, detailing and site supervision of structures in various materials and forms of construction;
    • Liaising with architects and other agencies on project development;
    • checking and monitoring projects designed by consulting engineers and control of engineers and structural assistants working in the specific;
    • supervising of structural, civil and Drainage works prepared by the Department and consulting engineers;
    • Enforcing specifications, compliance with engineers’ drawings, conditions of contract, quality control, approval and measurement of completed works, progress reports and guidance of Roads engineers on all technical aspects of the work;
    • Supervising structural and civil works prepared by the Department and consulting engineers;
    • Enforcing specifications, compliance with engineers’ drawings, conditions of contract, quality control, approval and measurement of completed works, progress reports and guidance of county structural engineers on al technical aspects of the work; and
    • Any other duty that maybe assigned from time to time
    • Terms: Three (3) years contract renewable

    Principal Electrical Engineer

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    • Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage;
    • Be Licensed by energy and petroleum regulatory authority;
    • Be Registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a graduate engineer or its relevant equivalent and in good standing;
    • Have Certificate in Computer Applications; and
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Duties and Responsibilities Duties

    The duties Principal Electrical Engineer will entail: -

    • Design of electrical/Electronic engineering services in government buildings and construction works;
    • Repair and maintenance of electrical /electronic installations in waterworks, offices, workshops, conference complexes and other county government facilities.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
    • Terms: Three (3) years contract renewable

    Integrity Clearance

    • Successful applicants are expected to get clearance from the following bodies.
    • Kenya Revenue Authority(KRA)
    • Credit Reference Bureau(CRB)
    • Higher Education Loans Board(HELB)
    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC)
    • Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
    • For those with higher education certificates (degrees) from outside Kenya, a
    • letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission of University Education.
