    Sales Executive – Solar Solutions- Nairobi

    JOB PURPOSE:                                          

    The ideal candidate will actively generate leads, engage clients, and expand the market to boost the growth of the solar business. They will be self-motivated, persuasive, and passionate about renewable energy solutions, with the ability to convert opportunities into long-term business relationships.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Lead Generation & Market Development

    • Identify, approach, and develop new business opportunities in the industrial, commercial, and institutional solar segments.
    • Conduct market mapping to ensure strong regional coverage and visibility for our client.
    • Generate inquiries through cold calls, site visits, referrals, digital platforms, and networking.
    • Maintain a healthy sales funnel through consistent prospecting and follow-up.

    Customer Engagement & Sales Conversion

    • Present our client’s products and solutions to prospective clients confidently and professionally.
    • Understand customer energy needs, site conditions, and financial objectives to position the right solar solution.
    • Coordinate with the technical team to prepare proposals, simulations, and presentations.
    • Follow up diligently on proposals and convert qualified leads into confirmed orders.

    Market Intelligence & Reporting

    • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on lead generation, pipeline status, and sales achievements.
    • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions in CRM or reporting formats.

    Coordination & Teamwork

    • Work closely with design and execution teams to ensure smooth project handover post-sale.
    • Support marketing activities such as exhibitions, awareness campaigns, and client events.
    • Provide feedback from the field to enhance products, pricing, and service offerings.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, or business administration.
    • 2–4 years of sales experience in Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, or Industrial Equipment sectors.
    • Previous experience with industrial project-based sales.
    • Proven track record in lead generation and B2B/B2C sales.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Strong customer relationship management and follow-up discipline.
    • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Self-driven, persuasive, and resilient with a strong go-getter attitude.
    • Willingness to travel frequently for client visits and fieldwork.

    Compressor Sales Engineer

    The incumbent will be responsible for achieving monthly sales targets through proactive lead generation, tender preparation, and order finalization. They will foster strong customer relationships, provide market intelligence, and ensure timely payment collection, contributing to the company’s overall growth strategy.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Promote the sales of compressors and achieve monthly sales target.
    • Analyze and forecast the sales volume based on market potential.
    • Achieve growth and hit sales targets.
    • Generate leads, create inquiries, and convert them into successful sales.
    • Prepare tenders and finalize orders in line with company standards.
    • Build and promote strong relationships with contractors and customers by understanding and meeting their needs.
    • Provide management with insights into market potential, competitor activities, strategies for business promotion, etc.
    • Ensure timely payment collection and manage outstanding debts effectively.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in Compressor sales/commercial machinery & generator sales.
    • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
    • The ability to talk to people from all social groups, including high end decision makers and to close deals.
    • Ability to take the initiative.
    • Good interpersonal and persuasive skills.
    • Have high energy, demonstrated ability to deliver results and meet strict deadlines

    Technical Manager – Solar & Hybrid Systems

    The role spans pre-sales, procurement/vendor evaluation, and project designs. The ideal candidate must combine deep system design expertise with excellent customer facing ability, a go-getter attitude, and the ability to solve real-time technical challenges on site.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Pre-Sales

    • Create detailed solar simulations and energy yield studies using Helioscope, PVsyst, or equivalent tools.
    • Prepare technical proposals, single-line diagrams, and system layouts.
    • Attend client meetings and present technical solutions; assist sales with technical clarifications.
    • Make cold calls and customer visits when required to support business development.

    Procurement & Vendor Assessment

    • Lead vendor assessment and pre-qualification processes (technical evaluation of vendors and products).
    • Consolidate and evaluate vendor quotations.
    • Prepare comparative procurement papers and purchase recommendation reports based on in-depth technical analysis (performance, warranties, reliability, total cost of ownership).
    • Recommend preferred suppliers and support purchase negotiations.

    Project Implementation

    • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, and technical specifications.
    • Design string layouts, panel arrangements, cleaning systems, cable trays, and cable routes.
    • Design and analyze upstream/downstream switchgear, load flow, and protection coordination.
    • Troubleshoot real-time technical issues during execution and commissioning.
    • Review and approve as-built drawings, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.

    Hybrid / Battery Systems

    • Design, size, and configure hybrid systems with battery storage, including inverter selection, control logic, and system integration.
    • Provide recommendations on storage sizing, charge/discharge strategies, and system lifecycle optimization.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related discipline.
    • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in solar and hybrid system design and implementation.
    • Must hold valid registration with EPRA at Tier 3 and be registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
    • Proficiency in Helioscope / PVsyst, AutoCAD, and MS Office 365 (Advanced Excel required).
    • Strong PowerPoint skills for technical and commercial presentation preparation.
    • Strong understanding of electrical switchgear, protection systems, and balance-of-system components.
    • Proven experience in BOQ preparation, vendor evaluation, and technical purchase comparisons.
    • Excellent customer-facing, communication and relationship building skills — presentable, articulate, and confident.
    • Strong troubleshooting and on-site problem-solving capability.
    • A go-getter with high ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to results.
    • Willingness to travel for client visits and site supervision as required.
    • Depth of technical knowledge in solar and hybrid systems.
    • Strength in procurement & vendor evaluation (pre-qualification, quotation analysis, purchase comparison).
