    Senior Solar Design Engineer

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solar Design Engineer to join our team. The Senior Design Engineer will oversee the technical aspects of solar projects, from initial design to implementation, ensuring all projects meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the design and engineering of solar PV, battery storage, and hybrid systems for grid-tied, off-grid, and mini-grid applications.
    • Conduct detailed energy assessments, site surveys, and load analysis to determine optimal system configurations.
    • Prepare technical proposals including system sizing, single line diagrams (SLDs), equipment specifications, and cost estimations.
    • Collaborate with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with customer requirements.
    • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and design tools to enhance system performance and cost efficiency.
    • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and post-installation phases as needed.
    • Mentor junior engineers and support continuous technical training within the team.
    • Ensure all designs adhere to local regulations, international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC), and internal quality and safety guidelines.
    • Support project teams during procurement, installation, and commissioning.
    • Ensure compliance with local and international standards (NEC, IEC, EBK, etc.).
    • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to improve design efficiency.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
    • Professional certifications, such as T3, PMI, are highly preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of solar PV systems, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
    • Strong proficiency in solar design software (PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, etc.).
    • Knowledge of energy storage systems and battery-based storage solutions.
    • Extensive knowledge of the electrical design of solar systems, including AC and DC circuits, inverters, energy storage systems, and grid-tied and off-grid systems.
    • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management.
    • In-depth knowledge of Kenyan regulatory standards, including the Kenyan Renewable Energy Authority (REA), Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) requirements, and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
    • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • A passion for renewable energy and sustainable development in Kenya and Africa.

    Business Development Executive

    The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving growth in the solar energy sector across Kenya. This includes managing relationships with key stakeholders, expanding the client base, and contributing to the overall strategy for market penetration.

    Key Responsibilities :

    • Development of new leads in the B2B segment while growing sales and supporting existing customers in assigned markets
    • Driving sales strategy across multiple channels with clear understandable metrics
    • Develop and nurture relationships with distribution channels, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partners and affiliates to bolster collaboration and project success.
    • Collaborating with marketing team in making lead generation, acquisition, participation in thematic exhibitions, conferences, and forums
    • Business Development Lifecycle: Manage the entire business development process, encompassing;
    • Identifying potential clients.
    • Engaging with clients and conducting thorough due diligence.
    • Strategic management of client relationships.
    • Conducting comprehensive site assessments and feasibility studies.
    • Determining project sizing and tariff pricing.
    • Preparing compelling proposals and presentations for potential clients.
    • Personally visit all ongoing installations sites to ensure attainment of quality works, smooth handover and develop close strong relationship.
    • Close prospective deals.
    • Build and manage relationships with key partners across the private and public sectors, academia, and governmental institutions to explore C&I projects across the region.
    • Represent Chloride Exide Ltd at industry events, identify and cultivate important partnerships.
    • Document all sales activities, generate reports and keep records of transactions with clients.
    • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, business contracts and follow-up activities.
    • Advise management on strategic issues relating to product lines materials, new proposals and problem areas

    KEY REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS.

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. PMP & T3 is an added advantage.
    • Experience in active sales of renewable energy solutions for B2B market 3+ years with strong background in sales of technical solutions
    • Specific knowledge of solar and other renewable energy technologies are required;
    • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in an international environment
    • Professional networking and stakeholders partnerships in the renewable energy business environment
    • Project management experience to cover whole sales cycle
    • Ability to maintain the highest level of sales negotiation, ethics and integrity
    • Experience of working or studying abroad within international settings will be a plus
    • Flexibility, ability to adapt to changing goals and set priorities
    • High level of independence, initiative, result orientation
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
    • Willingness for frequent business trips to the clients location and HQ.

    Technical Solar Sales Representative

    The job holder is expected to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve Solar sales targets and expand the customer base. Working broadly and collaboratively to achieve Solar sales growth across the country through prospecting, identification and understanding of customer requirements, designing and providing the right solutions, relationship building and retention; ensuring expansion of renewable energy and creating sustainable market presence of our solar PV Systems.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

    • Collaborate with management to develop effective sales strategies to penetrate new markets and expand existing customer base.
    • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
    • Proactively identify and engage with potential clients through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of leads, ensuring regular follow-up to convert opportunities into sales.
    • Conduct comprehensive consultations with clients to assess their energy needs and recommend suitable solar solutions.
    • Provide tailored solutions that meet client specifications and budget requirements.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of solar products, including technical specifications and benefits, to effectively educate clients.
    • Conduct workshops and informational sessions for clients to promote solar energy solutions.
    • Prepare detailed sales proposals, outlining project scope, costs, and timelines.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, ensuring mutual agreement and satisfaction.
    • Coordinate with the installation and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
    • Follow up with client’s post-installation to address any concerns and ensure optimal system performance.
    • Monitor sales performance against targets and provide regular reports to management.
    • Analyze customer feedback and market trends to improve sales strategies.
    • Work closely with marketing to develop promotional materials and campaigns that align with sales objectives.
    • Participate in team meetings to share insights, challenges, and successes.

    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS.

    • BSc. Electrical & electronics, renewable energy, energy engineering, B. Com/business administration with related professional qualifications in sales and marketing.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Technical solar sales. (solar panels, batteries, and inverters). Ability to deliver beyond set targets.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and influence potential customers
    • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities to close deals and meet sales targets
    • Ability to understand technical aspects of solar energy systems and convey this knowledge in a clear and accessible manner to customers
    • Thorough knowledge of PV System, SWH and PBS products/systems and all our product range.
