    Quality Supervisor

    The Quality Supervisor provides day-to-day technical leadership for all quality control and laboratory operations within the cement grinding plant. This role ensures that all testing, sampling, and analysis activities are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant cement standards and the company’s Quality Management System. The Quality Supervisor supports consistent product performance, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement of cement quality, while maintaining rigorous laboratory discipline and scientific integrity

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Supervise all routine and non-routine laboratory tests for cement, clinker, raw materials, additives, and process samples.
    • Ensure strict adherence to established testing methods, sampling procedures, and laboratory SOPs.
    • Verify accuracy, precision, and consistency of test results before submission to relevant departments.
    • Oversee daily laboratory workflow, resource allocation, and performance of Chemical Analysts, Laboratory Technicians, and the Gauger.
    • Monitor performance and calibration status of laboratory equipment and coordinate timely external calibrations.
    • Maintain laboratory documentation, including test records, calibration logs, quality forms, and corrective action reports.
    • Conduct statistical analysis of quality data, identify trends, and escalate deviations to the Quality and R&D Manager.
    • Support production and process teams in managing product consistency, strength optimisation, Blaine stability, setting times, and clinker factor control.
    • Participate in raw material quality verification and support the evaluation of alternative materials and additives.
    • Conduct routine inspections to ensure laboratory cleanliness, orderliness, safe chemical handling, and compliance with SHEQ requirements.
    • Participate in internal and external audits and support the closure of non-conformities.
    • Assist with trial mixes, experiments, and product evaluation activities under the guidance of the Quality and R&D Manager.
    • Lead or support investigations into quality deviations, non-conforming batches, or customer complaints and provide evidence-based reports.
    • Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory quality reports.
    • Train, coach, and mentor laboratory staff to build technical capability and ensure consistent performance.
    • Uphold scientific discipline, integrity, and data reliability throughout all quality operations.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Materials Science.
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a cement laboratory, QA/QC environment, or heavy industrial process laboratory.
    • Strong knowledge of cement testing methods, physical and chemical analysis, and sampling protocols.
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, and local cement standards.
    • Skilled in laboratory equipment operation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
    • Experience supervising laboratory teams is an added advantage.
    • Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in laboratory information or reporting systems.

    Production and Optimization Manager

    The Production & Optimization Manager is responsible for managing all resources required for safe and efficient plant operations, ensuring strict adherence to procedures, quality standards, and productivity targets. The role focuses on optimizing production processes, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities 

    Health and Safety

    • Proactively manage Health & Safety processes to achieve “Zero LTIs” and continuously improve performance.
    • Champion a strong safety culture and enforce safety guidelines across operations.
    • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses and implement corrective actions.
    • Develop and implement Safety Improvement Plans.

    Environment

    • Prioritize environmental stewardship in daily activities.
    • Conduct inspections and enforce compliance with environmental procedures.
    • Ensure operations are conducted in a clean and compliant environment.

    Customer & Vendor Focus

    • Maintain strong customer relations and respond promptly to demands.
    • Collaborate with divisions to resolve customer complaints effectively.
    • Advocate for customer needs with urgency and accountability.

    Performance Management

    • Establish departmental objectives aligned with company goals.
    • Develop and implement strategic monthly and annual activity plans.
    • Monitor production, finished goods, and raw material performance via dashboards.
    • Establish and monitor plant performance for production and quality standards.
    • Develop annual budgets and conduct financial analyses for Opex and Capex.
    • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences.
    • Inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
    • Monitor manpower utilization and approve workforce adjustments.
    • Participate in supplier selection for raw materials.

    Administration & Leadership

    • Delegate authority to key team members and coordinate plant activities.
    • Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to achieve plant objectives.
    • Resolve worker problems, complaints, and grievances.
    • Lead production teams in scheduling, recruitment, and annual appraisals.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Chemical and Process Engineering.
    • 10 years of active involvement in production operations within a manufacturing setup, preferably in the cement industry.
    • Strong background in cement manufacturing processes.
    • Minimum 5 years of team management experience.
    • Expertise in production planning and manufacturing process auditing.
    • Preferably worked for SCL or SCLUA for the past 5 years in middle management.
