    Officer, Business Development Energy

    Job Summary

    The job holder is responsible for identifying and pursuing growth opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and achieving revenue and profitability goals in LITES. The holder plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful adoption of LITES products and Solutions

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with business development team in identifying, analyzing, and qualifying potential clients and opportunities in the energy market
    • Conduct energy audits, feasibility studies, and site assessments to identify efficiency improvement opportunities and validate project viability.
    • Design, develop, and implement renewable energy systems such as solar PV and hybrid solutions in line with technical and client requirements.
    • Prepare and review technical and financial proposals, including cost estimates, system designs, and return-on-investment analyses.
    • Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals to prospective clients.
    • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to tailor solutions and ensure seamless project delivery.
    • Work with projects and engineering team to supervise installation, testing, and commissioning activities to guarantee compliance with design standards, safety regulations, and performance targets.
    • Monitor project execution to ensure timelines, quality benchmarks, and budgetary goals are achieved.
    • Provide post-installation support, performance monitoring, and optimization recommendations for implemented systems.
    • Stay abreast of new technologies, market trends, and policy developments in the renewable energy sector to inform project strategies.
    • Prepare technical reports, market intelligence summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Represent the organization in client meetings, trade exhibitions, and professional forums while upholding corporate values and sustainability objectives.
    • Any other duties may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualification and Experience Requirements

    Education

    • Holder of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, BCOM Marketing option/ Business Administration (Marketing major)or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
    • Certification:- Chartered Institute of marketing (CIM)/Marketing Society of Kenya(MSK ) will be an added advantage
    • Registration with a professional body such as EBK, IEK, EPRA will be considered an added advantage

    Experience

    • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in engineering or technical sales, with a strong preference for exposure within the renewable energy industry.
    • Must have experience in preparing Energy bids (tenders, RFPs, RFQs, and EOIs)
    • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
    • Demonstrate excellent understanding of target market segments with a good network in space.
    • Proficiency in developing sales strategies and business plans.
    • Proficiency in renewable energy design tools e.g. PVSyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope etc. will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of ICT solutions is an added advantage

    Officer Software Development /Systems Engineer

    Job purpose:

    • The jobholder is responsible for implementing the IT System strategic plans and designing specifications aimed at the computerisation and networking of all functions, activities and processes in order to enhance organisational effectiveness.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Implement the systems security management and ensure all components of the system are optimally configured to avoid any bottlenecks and downtime of operations
    • Implement the review of systems and technical support on all applications; hardware, software, solar and network issues and make reports on any area needing urgent attention
    • Participate in backups and restorations activities in relation to antivirus and general information backup to ensure protection of information
    • Carry out regular testing and evaluation on both hardware systems and software programmes existing to determine their effectiveness, reliability and compatibility 
    • Implement risk on information assets and ensure vulnerability identification, management of system security breaches and business continuity planning is done in a quick manner
    • Carry out extensive research in light of the ICT field and ensure adaption of relevant trends in the field that will be beneficial to LITES
    • Maintain information technology systems, repair and maintain hardware systems to avoid minimal to no disruption of services
    • Monitor all installed systems and infrastructure and prepare weekly status reports for management decision making
    • Test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools and ensure they are running optimally
    • Proactively carry out random system tests to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
    • Test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
    Academic & Professional Qualifications/Memberships to professional bodies:

    • Bachelor's’ Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field from a recognised institution

    Experience Required:

    •  At least 4 years relevant experience in a similar organisation or busy function

    Manager, Energy II

    Job purpose:

    • This role is responsible for overseeing the designing, developing, and evaluating of energy-related projects or programs to enhance the reduction of energy costs or improve energy efficiency for CPF LITES clients

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Develop and oversee the maintenance and implementation of energy savings opportunities and make recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operation for the LITES business
    • Oversee the development, design, or construction of energy conservation projects to ensure acceptability of budgets and timelines, conformance to state and regulatory laws, or adherence to approved specifications
    • Conduct energy audits to evaluate energy use, costs, or conservation measures for CPF LITES clients
    • Monitor industrial energy consumption or management
    • Undertake energy modelling, measurement, verification, commissioning, or retro-commissioning.
    • Oversee design or construction aspects related to energy such as energy engineering, energy management, and sustainable design software
    • Evaluate plans or specifications to determine technological or environmental implications.
    • Inspect or monitor energy systems, including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) or daylighting systems to determine energy use or potential energy savings
    • Evaluate designs or specifications information such as detail and assembly drawings, design calculations, system layouts, and sketches, or specifications of the LITES alternative energy solutions to ensure quality
    • Make recommendations regarding energy fuel selection, technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance
    • Review or negotiate energy purchase agreements with contractors
    • Provide consultation to clients or other engineers on topics such as climate control systems, energy modelling, data logging, energy management control systems, lighting or daylighting design, sustainable design, and energy auditing
    • Train staff or clients on proper operational procedures for efficient energy management
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

    • Academic & Professional Qualifications/Memberships to professional bodies:
    • Bachelor's’ Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field from a recognised institution
    • Master's’ Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognised institution will be an added advantage

    Experience Required:

    • At least 8 years’ relevant experience, 3 of which should have been in a managerial role for Manager I in a similar organisation or busy function

    OR

    • At least 8 years’ relevant experience, 2 of which should have been in a supervisory role for Manager II in a similar organisation or busy function
