Internal Audit Job Responsibilities

• Draw an annual audit plan by beginning of every year and present to the Board Audit and Compliance Committee for approval.
• Ensure audits are carried out as per plan.
• Ensure branch audits are conducted in liason with the Senior Internal Auditor
• Liaises with Group Internal Auditor for regional audits.
• Prepare reports for the Board Audit and Compliance Committee highlighting key weaknesses/risk areas.
• Liaise with Management to facilitate implementation of audit recommendations
• Provide strong leadership and supervision to all Staff in the Department and ensure they are trained and developed to meet new challenges in audit.
• Regularly monitor staff performance and ensure results are achieved as per agreed targets and objectives.

Requirements for the Internal Audit Job

• At least 7 years’ auditing experience gained in a large reputable auditing firm or reputable commercial organization 3 of which are in a management role.
• Background in financial institution or insurance will be
• Degree in Business Administration from a recognized University
• CPA (K) qualification or equivalent
• Forensic Audit Skills
• Able to use Audit Tools like IDEA and Team Mate.

Functional Skills

• The Candidate should have good communication & interpersonal skills
• Should have a high level of independence, honesty and integrity
• Should poses great knowledge of Internal Audit Preparation, Planning and Coordination
• Should have a great understanding of Internal Controls Assurance
• Should be able Conduct Financial Investigations
