Vaccine and Cold Chain Management Evaluation Expert at Crown Agents Ltd

Scope of Activities and Tasks:

The experts will carry out approximately 1-2 week-long (full time) evaluations to assess the capacity of the national health system regarding:

• Vaccine stock management policies and systems;
• Receipt, storage and distribution;
• Management of vaccines and vaccine related devices;
• Procedures in place around vaccine wastage;
• Inventory and fixed assets record keeping;
• Insurance arrangements for loss of inventory

Areas of Expertise:

Public health, capacity building, capacity assessments, national health systems, health systems strengthening (HSS), vaccines, stocks, policies and guidelines, immunisations, procurement, stock management, procedures around vaccine wastage, inventory and record keeping, insurance, loss of inventory, membership with certified bodies such as CIPS, SCMP, CMILT.

Work Experience Required:

• A minimum of a graduate level (Masters) degree (ideally a PhD or MD) in a related field, such as public health, international development studies, etc.
• At least 10-15 years’ experience working in the field of public health, with at least 5 years’ experience with procurement of vaccines at national or large program level in developing countries
• Proven experience in developing inventories and cold chain rehabilitation and expansion plans at national country level
• Skills in other languages would be a plus, particularly French, Portuguese, or Spanish
• Membership with certified bodies such as CIPS, SCMP, CMILT
