ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute a risk-based annual internal audit plan approved by the Board Audit Committee
• Report audit findings, risk exposures and recommendations to the Board Audit Committee and senior leadership
• Work closely with external auditors, regulators (eg, IRA, KRA) and internal stakeholders.
• Lead special investigations, including fraud, misconduct, operational lapses and recommends opportunities for improvement.
• Continuously enhance internal audit methodologies, policies and tools in line with evolving risks and industry trends
• Coordinate work with Risk & Compliance, Legal and Finance functions in conducting periodic risk assessments and putting in place controls to mitigate identified risks.

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or equivalent from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education
• Master's degree preferably MBA will be an added advantage.
• ACCA and/or CISA required
• Must be a registered member of ICPAK and/or IIA
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is a strong advantage

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 10 years progressive audit experience with at least five (5) years in a senior managerial role preferably in the insurance or financial services sector
• Experience with IRA audits, statutory compliance and audit committee reporting.
• Experience in Financial Management Systems.
• Proficiency in audit software systems, ERP and MS tools
