Job purpose
The Commercial Manager is responsible for the commercial function and Business Development Strategy of the Company
Reporting relationship
The position reports to the Managing Director
Supervises
The position supervises the commercial department/function staff
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this position are: -
- Processing new customer accounts, Updating the customers register/accounts
- Coordinate the departmental performance to ensure realization of set targets monthly, quarterly and annually
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the department
- Prepare Board management papers for approval
- Ensure that all the data with regards to monthly meter readings and payments is entered and verified
- Liaising with other sections in provision of quality service to customers
- Ensuring timely billings of all services provided to customers
- Maintaining accurate records
- Preparing accurate reports as required
- Liaising with other sections in provision of quality service to customer
- Identify training needs for departmental staff
- Recommend appropriate development opportunities for the departmental staff to address identified needs
- Addressing promptly to complaints from customers
- Develop department budget and work plan
- Mentor and coach departmental staff
- Identify procurement needs of the department
- Participate in strategic planning and implementation.
- Responsible for physical assets assigned by the company
- Makes strategic, operational and financial decisions for the department
- Plans the work of subordinates, assigns work to subordinates, monitors subordinates work performance. Appraises/evaluates subordinates performance
- Work closely with other departments/sections in all areas.
- Performing any other work other relevant responsibilities as may be assigned by the company
Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Strategic Management or any other Business-related field from a recognized Institution
- CPA (K), ACCA or relevant professional qualification.
- Member of a professional body and in good standing
- Demonstrable ability to prepare various business reports
- Ability to communicate effectively in diverse work situations
- 7 years' of work experience with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
- Must be computer literate
