    Digital Marketing Officer

    Hours: Approx. 20 hours per week

    Location: Remote

    Type of contract:Part-time employee

    Length of contract: Permanent after 6-month probationary period

    Salary: Base salary of $100-150/month + bonuses for meeting targets

    Expected start date: 01/08/2025

    Summary of the role: Working closely with the Projects Team and UK board members, The Digital Marketing Officer will work to grow the online following of Children of Rwanda and generate income by managing and generating content for the organisation’s social media platforms, running digital campaigns, writing quarterly newsletters and maintaining crowd fundraising profile.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    Social media platforms:

    • Generate and publish relevant and appropriate content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and other platforms as appropriate.
    • Grow online following across all digital platforms.
    • Liaise with Implementation and Fundraising team to ensure up-to-date information is shared about Children of Rwanda’s work.
    • Ensure analytics are collected, evaluated and insight applied.

    Digital campaigns:

    • Run two fundraising campaigns per year.
    • Ensure campaigns are appropriately targeted.

    Crowdfunding:

    • Initiate and develop crowdfunding revenue.
    • Ensure Children of Rwanda profiles are maintained and updated on each platform.

    Strategy:

    • In collaboration with Children of Rwanda (UK) team, design and implement an online marketing strategy.

    Newsletters:

    • Collaborate with Project Team to design and publish quarterly newsletter.

    Other:

    • Represent Children of Rwanda at relevant events
    • Develop fundraising communications materials for the organisation such as brochures, case statements, social media content, etc.
    • Travel to project areas as required to generate content.

    Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in digital marketing with a successful track record of growing online audiences
    • Fluency in English (both oral and written) and the ability to communicate professionally with partners and donors
    • Excellent writing skills with the ability to tell compelling stories and leverage impact data
    • Proficiency with computer applications for drafting proposals as well as publishing/designing fundraising communications materials (ex. Microsoft Office applications; Adobe PhotoShop, Canva, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
    • Timeliness and professionalism are of extreme importance for this role

    Desirable:

    • Result orientated
    • Understanding of data protection
    • Familiarity with Google Add words
