    Environment Affairs Intern

    Duties:

    • Contributes to providing substantive support in implementing Early Warning for Environment, including Project management, planning and organizing, aligning with Early Warning for Environment workplan and UNEP rules and procedures, to contribute to UNEP MTS;
    • Works with the technical level of Early Warning for Environment Task Forces and contributes to ensuring consistency and harmonization across all UNEP and external partners.
    • Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, inputs to integrated to WESR.
    • Contributes to the organization, preparation and facilitation with administrative and substantive support to consultative of Early Warning for Environment-related meetings, including workshops’ meetings, also including by preparing documents and overseeing logistical aspects.
    • Contributes to the organization and support to internal and external stakeholders meeting.
    • Drafting documents and project proposal for the Early Warning for Environment for the resource’s mobilization.
    • Prepares, in coordination with the Early Warning for Environment networks, inputs for outreach and other communication material related to the Early Warning for Environment.
    • Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, inputs to integrated to WESR. 9. Undertakes outreach activities; participates in the development of workshops, seminars, and best practices meetings; participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
    • Contributes to the collection and analysis of data related to Early Warning for Environment as well as identification of trends or patterns and provides draft insights through graphs, charts, tables, and reports using data visualization methods for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation, and reporting.
    • Helped draft fundraising materials for public and private sector funding sources. 12. Support outreach and communication initiatives for the Early Warning for Environment.
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications/special skills

    • Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
    • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
    • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); or Have graduated with a university degree in environmental sciences, environment monitoring, Socio-economic Data Analysis, business or public administration, social science, environmental law, or related field.
    • Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
    • However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
    • Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor’s or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
