Job Description

The Finance Officer- Payable and Receivables is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of accounts payables transactions in the financial statements, reconciliation, and processing of payments for the suppliers and maintenance of the creditors ledger in accordance with the Sacco’s policies and accounting best practices

Main Responsibilities

1. Maintain accounting records of the society and processing the society’s payments.
2. Review and verify invoices and related documents for completeness and accuracy.
3. Prepare payment vouchers in respect of all payments and post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records for management reporting.
4. Prepare payment schedules and load them to the banking portal.
5. File statutory returns for compliance.
6. Prepare payroll payment vouchers and ensure that all payroll statutory are filed on time.
7. Track expenses and prepare daily expenditure analysis and creditors reports for management action.
8. Analyze and reconcile accounts payable transactions.
9. Maintain an up-to-date filing system for payment for ease of retrieval and reference.
10. Respond to vendor and staff inquiries on payments.
11. Prepare general ledger reconciliations.
12. Assist the Senior Finance Officer- Financials in preparing for audits.
13. Liaise with banks on payments.
14. Manage imprest and petty cash transactions.
15. Respond to queries fromcustomers.
16. Market the Sacco products and services.
17. Carry out annual payment of dividends and ensuring dividend reconciliations.
18. Ensures the insurance of assets as often as purchase is done and quarterly for loans and deposits.
19. Perform any other responsibilities allocated from time to time

Knowledge: Qualifications & Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree Finance/Accounting
2. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a similar position
3. CPA K holder or ACCA, ACA qualifications
4. Registered with ICPAK
5. Computer proficiency in ERP, IFRS
