Legal Officer at Access Bank Kenya

DESCRIPTION

To provide legal counsel and support to the Bank in relation to contracts, litigation and credit.

The main responsibilities include:

• Review all documents presented for drawdown on credit facility to ensure that the Bank’s interest is adequately protected and conditions precedent met before disbursement.
• Be responsible for preparing, reviewing, analysing and negotiating legal, credit and security related documents.
• Act as a liaison with outside counsel.
• Ensuring the due perfection and protection of the Bank’s interest in securities and the Bank owned properties.
• Provide appropriate legal support to the Bank Remedial team in recovery of credit facilities.
• Provide advisory services to the various units and sections of the Bank on their activities.
• Provide company secretarial support from time-to-time

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university.
• Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
• Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in Legal within the Financial Services Industry
• Knowledge and understanding of banking operations (international & domestic)
