Provide subject matter expertise, advice and solutions that mitigate physical and cyber security risks
Provide Corporate Security Support Services as required including but not limited to prioritizing, developing and implementing Physical Security, Emergency Preparedness, Travel Safety Management, Investigations and Safety Strategies
Assess and mitigate the potential threats faced by a company and regularly evaluate the risks and develop solutions to mitigate the threats
Coordinate planning, designing, and installation of technical security systems including but not limited to monitoring and conducting surveillance on all GDC project areas, assets and offices
Perform investigations to identify and apprehend perpetrators of crimes such as theft, fraud, or computer hacking
Oversee contracted security services and provide applicable training and sensitization initiatives on key security practices that are specific to the needs of the company
Develop and maintain quality relationships with security service providers and take actions to ensure that the company’s needs are met through robust performance monitoring and evaluation of key deliverables by the service provider
Develop and enforce safety and security policies, taking steps to ensure there is adequate communication concerning response to emergency situations
Monitor and ensure full compliance with all applicable safety and security regulations
Develop strategies and put in place appropriate controls for all admissions within the GDC operational areas and offices
Advising the MD and CEO on all matters security
Ensuring protection of life and property within GDC precincts
Monitoring all alarm and surveillance systems and provide periodic reports on security matters
Person Specifications
A minimum period of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, four (4) years must of which have been in a managerial role
Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Security Management, Criminology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative)
Membership of relevant professional body
Proficiency in Computer Applications
Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
