    MSc. Student - Conservation Technology & Human-Wildlife Conflict

    We are seeking a passionate and skilled Kenyan, Second-Year MSc. student to join an exciting conservation technology project tackling human-wildlife conflict in Laikipia expected to begin in August 2025. This position will run for 6 months.

    In this role, you will:

    • Monitor and help reduce conflict between people, elephants, and carnivores
    • Repair and maintain solar-powered speaker systems in the field
    • Train local communities on using conservation technology
    • Collect and analyze data on conflict events
    • Provide regular project updates to collaborators and funders Collaborate with international partners and publish scientific papers

    We're looking for someone who is:

    • Currently pursuing an MSc degree in conservation, ecology, social science, or related field
    • Familiar with local conservation issues and human-wildlife conflict
    • Has Technical aptitude (electronics or mechanical systems)
    • Capable of driving a motorcycle on challenging road networks
    • Strong communication skills (English, Kiswahili; local languages a plus)
    • Passion for working with rural communities and advancing conservation
