    Marketing Manager

    Position Summary

    The Head of Marketing will be a strategist and an implementer - equally comfortable devising big-picture campaigns and rolling up their sleeves to execute them. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that enhance Dance Centre Kenya's visibility, grow enrollment, and increase audience engagement. This role requires a proactive individual with the ability to balance creative vision with the practical demands of a fast-paced arts organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Marketing Strategy & Execution

    • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to grow DCK’s visibility, enrollment, and event attendance.
    • Collaborate with the Artistic Director to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.
    • Manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies.

    Digital Marketing & Social Media

    • Create and manage content for all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), ensuring a minimum of five high-quality posts per week.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to social media messages, fostering engagement and community.
    • Collaborate with website expert to optimize DCK’s website (SEO and content updates) to drive traffic and ensure relevant, up-to-date information.
    • Explore innovative ways to grow DCK’s digital presence and audience reach.

    Public Relations & Media Outreach

    • Cultivate relationships with local media outlets (newspapers, TV, radio) to secure regular coverage of DCK events and achievements.
    • Draft press releases, coordinate interviews, and manage media appearances.
    • Maintain a comprehensive archive of media coverage (both soft and hard copies).

    Event Promotion & Coordination

    • Oversee marketing for all performances, workshops, and community outreach events, including ticket sales coordination and relationship management with third-party vendors (e.g., Kenya Buzz).
    • Organize event logistics, including the setup of reception areas (DCK, DWK, vendors, sponsor banners, bake sales, catering) during DCK performances, 
    • Represent DCK at fairs, expos, and other public functions to promote the organization and ensure all logistics are taken care of, such as transport, costumes, marketing materials, merchandize, music, flooring, and other essential elements.
    • Distribute posters, flyers, and other promotional materials in key locations across Nairobi.

    Collaborative & Administrative Responsibilities

    • Work closely with administrative staff to identify and leverage opportunities for growth.
    • Collaborate with the website manager to ensure seamless integration of marketing materials.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to the Artistic Director on the progress and success of marketing initiatives.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in marketing, ideally in the performing arts, education, or a similar creative industry.
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute operationally.
    • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and SEO best practices.
    • Event planning and coordination experience.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • A proactive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
