Senior Economist II/Senior Statistician II, Job Group “M” -2 Posts at County Government of Nandi

Duties and Responsibilities

• The officer at this level will be responsible for;
• Carrying out more specialized and complex economic planning/statistical/budget analyses and Monitoring and Evaluation;
• Prosion of technical support in formulation of policies, strategies and programmes by the staff responsible for specific sector/s, Sub County, location, serce or area of actity;
• Prosion of technical guidance in conducting feasibility studies, determining project ability and setting project priorities;
• Coordinate preparation of regular statistical publications/Budget Implementation Reew and Evaluation /M&E reports produced by County departments and other agencies residing within the county and prode technical backstopping;
• Prepare quarterly expenditure forecasts as a basis for discussions within the treasury for release of funds;
• Monitor expenditure and projects including programme implementation on a periodic basis and ensuring timely disbursement of funds;
• Prode technical support for the County Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation System (CIMES), including its institutionalization within the county;
• Maintain the support system that underpin reporting and database for economic planning and M&E; and
• Supersing and co-coordinating the actities of staff under him/her.

Requirements for appointment

• For appointment to the grade of Senior Economist II /Senior Statistician II, an Officer must have: -
• Served in the grade of Economist I / Statistician I, for at least three years;
• demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence in organizing Directing and executing work at this level; and
• show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
