Job Description
- The Technologist, KEWI 7 reports to the Senior Technologist KEWI 6.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
- Providing support in organizing and preparing for specific practical sessions in the laboratories;
- Providing support in maintaining laboratory facilities and training aids,
- Assist in fabrication of project assignment;
- Ensuring safety of training equipment and facilities;
- Operating and maintaining training equipment and tools;
- Implementing guidelines for students with special needs;
- Developing service schedule for equipment.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Served for a cumulative period of six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Technologist II or in a comparable position;
- Diploma in Water / Irrigation Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognised Institution.
- Certificate in Training of Trainers (TOT) course or its equivalent lasting not less than six (6) months from a recognised Institution (holders of Certificate in Education are exempted);
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Shown Merit and ability reflected in work performance and results.

In addition to the above indicated requirements, applicants will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
The following clearances will be required from successful candidates upon offer of job and not at the application stage.
- Certificate of Good Conduct;
- Clearance from the Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission;
- Certificate of Compliance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Clearance; and
- Certificate of Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
