    Territory Sales Manager- Bread & Bakery Products

    Our client is a fast-growing bread manufacturer located in Kisumu.

    Inorder to grow their market presence in Nyanza and Western Kenya, they are looking to hire an experienced, self driven and results oriented Territory Sales Manager. 

    The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and managing distributor/retailer relationships within the assigned territory. He/She will also ensure effective product placement, market penetration, as well as alignment with business goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Sales & Revenue Growth 
      • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. 
      • Drive product sales across all bakery SKUs (bread, cakes, biscuits, etc.)
      • Identify new market opportunities to expand the customer base. 
    • Territory Management 
      • Develop and execute territory-specific sales strategies. 
      • Monitor market trends and competitor activity. 
      • Optimize coverage and efficiency through effective route planning. 
    • Distributor & Retailer Management 
      • Appoint, manage, and support distributors/stockists in the assigned region. 
      • Conduct regular retail visits and market audits to ensure product availability and visibility. 
      • Ensure proper stock management, timely order placement, and receivables follow-up. 
    • Team Leadership & Training 
      • Lead and motivate a team of Sales Representatives. 
      • Provide training, performance reviews, and on-ground sales coaching.
    • Reporting & Analysis 
      • Submit regular sales reports, market feedback, and forecasts. 
      • Analyze territory performance and provide strategic input for improvements. 

    Desired Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or any related field of study. 
    • 4–6 years of sales experience in the FMCG industry, preferably in bread/bakery or food products. 
    • Proven track record in territory sales, distributor management, and retail engagement.
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills. 
    • In-depth understanding of FMCG and bakery product sales cycles. 
    • Leadership and team management abilities. 
    • Data-driven decision-making and analytical thinking. 
    • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools. 
    • Willingness to travel extensively within the territory. 
    • Familiarity with the local language and regional markets is a plus. 
    • Valid driver’s license
