Intern - Urban Planning at TUME Middle Africa Consulting Limited

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Planning Intern is responsible and accountable for the following core job elements:

• Support the multidisciplinary teams to advance client assignments, conduct research, prepare reports, presentations and other materials for communication with clients and project stakeholders.
• Work independently and collaboratively with project teams to discuss, analyze, conclude proposals on specific tasks.
• Support the preparation of diverse studies, field events, logistical plans relating to project functions
• Analyze and enumerate data, support development of accompanying rationale and narration
• Research rationale supporting various external reports, analyze trends, best practices. Assess other information points for alignment to plans for consistency and comment as needed
• Contribute ideas and develop original projects.
• Complete and meet leadership development assignments, timelines and quality requirements

REPORTING & CORRESPONDING RELATIONSHIPS:

• This position reports directly and is responsible to the Managing Partner.

EDUCATIONAL AND COLLATERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field from an accredited University or higher.
• Some experience, proof of capabilities in demographics, economics, zoning and regulations.
• Understands the devolved system of governance, the Nairobi Metropolitan plan, Vision 2030 strategy document, other similar documents and their implications
• Self-starter, mature individual with strategic, analytical, numerate, organizational and creative skills. Good communication and presentation skills.
• Strong work ethic: organized, prioritizes, meet deadlines, executes multiple concurrent tasks
• Microsoft Office suite and other IT capabilities.
