Job Specification

• The duties and responsibilities at this level will entail assisting in: -
• Routine and timely collection, testing and analysis of water samples as required by Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB).
• Prepare and submit water quality test results and analysis and maintain test reports.
• Advise the technical team on the water quality levels and appropriate actions to be taken.
• Operate and maintain water quality te sting and analysis laboratory.
• Sustain quality standards and specifications.
• Carrying out all water quality and pollution control activities;
• Carrying out water quality and pollution control analysis and prepare reports;
• Liaising with other institutions on water quality and pollution control; maintenance of scientific instruments;
• Supervision, evaluation and co-ordination of laboratory work;
• Testing, standardization and development of laboratory working techniques and Advising clients on possible remedial and correct uses of materials under test;
• Supervising, guiding, training and development of junior staff working under him/her.
• Monitor compliance of discharges to set national regulations and standards.

Person Specification

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following field; Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or any other equivalent from a recognized institution
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
• Masters in the relevant category will be added advantage.
