    Group Head: Save & Invest Products

    Your daily adventures include:

    • Executing the mission for the Product house, aligned to the Group’s mission and vision.
    • Own jointly and manage in collaboration with the Commercial team the P&L for the Product line(Digital Investments, Capital Markets solutions and Deposits)
    • Developing and monitoring strategies for the growth of product/capability distribution across the group
    • Product design, development, deployment and control - taking charge of mapping each product and/or capability with regard to its underlying characteristics and pipeline risk in line with the Group’s overall Commercial growth strategy.
    • Apply agile capabilities in the product development cycle to deliver products, projects and features which are valuable to clients and enhance product profitability.
    • Supporting the development of products which are relevant to the different segments that the Group has chosen to serve.
    • Prepare training and educational material for both frontline, digital channels and client communication in collaboration with the Communications team
    • Monitor and coordinate the preparation and reporting of product financial and non-financial performance for the key stakeholders.
    • Marketing products jointly with relationship management groups in all the chosen customer segments that the Group operates in – Retail, MSME, Corporate and Large entities and Government.
    • Support the operations of the Product house with regards to its overall risk and compliance with applicable policies and procedures of the group

    Requirements

    What it takes to succeed: 

    • Holder of University Degree or equivalent 4-year post-secondary qualification
    • MBA and/or CFA designation or equivalent (investment management or analysis qualification) will be an added advantage.
    • An understanding and experience in agile product management methodologies
    • A minimum of 10 years related experience in investment and/or liability product management.
    • Significant understanding of banking fundamentals such as balance sheet management including underlying drivers of balance sheet liquidity and drivers of capital, cost of funds, product behaviours, risk, treasury financial planning and reporting and regulatory requirements
    • Knowledgeable and experience in business case formulation and implementation.
    • Ability to effectively present product strategies to stakeholders and clients.
    • Experience in delivering Digital product solutions with a good understanding of the product development cycle and methodology.
    • Strong commercial acumen/awareness including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return.
    • Strong Marketing and Sales skills to drive Retail, SME and Corporate adoption of product solutions
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including multicultural awareness and sensitivity
    • Good understanding of regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
    • Ability to nurture effective relationship with local regulators as well as government bodies and officials.

    Head of Business Remittance & Fintech Growth

    Your daily adventures include:

    Business and Financial Performance

    •  Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies to achieve at least a 30% annual increase in inbound and outbound remittance revenues.
    • Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on market trends and opportunities to expand the footprint in the remittance and fintech space.
    • P&L Management: Monitor financial performance, ensuring that all growth initiatives contribute positively to the bank's profitability.
    • Strategic Planning: Drive the development of strategic plans for business expansion, optimizing resource allocation to meet financial goals.

    Customer Excellence

    • Partnership Building: Build, maintain, and enhance partnerships with fintech companies, regulators, and payment service providers to expand the company’s service offerings.
    • Customer Satisfaction: Oversee initiatives to enhance customer experience, ensuring that product offerings meet customer needs and market demands.
    • Feedback Loops: Establish feedback systems to capture customer insights and inform product development and service enhancements.

    Leadership and People Management

    • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team comprising the Business Development Manager, Account Manager, Partner Success Manager, and Regional Growth Manager, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
    • Performance Management: Set clear KPIs and objectives for team members, monitor progress, and provide coaching to ensure target achievement.
    • Talent Development: Promote continuous learning and development within the team, ensuring that talent is nurtured for succession planning.

    Process, Control, and Operational Performance

    • Partner Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new partners, aiming to streamline the process and reduce the average onboarding time to 60 days.
    • Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of promotional campaigns, partner onboarding, and business operations.
    • Compliance & Risk: Ensure that all business growth activities comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements, fostering a culture of compliance.

    Strategic Initiatives

    • Innovation & Growth: Encourage innovative approaches to business expansion and customer engagement, ensuring the business remains at the forefront of the remittance and fintech landscape.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, Compliance, Legal, Treasury, Risk, and Technology teams to execute growth initiatives and promote company services.
    • Market Leadership: Position the business as a market leader in remittances by identifying and implementing breakthrough innovations and strategic initiatives.

    Requirements

    What it takes to succeed: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
    • MBA or advanced degree in Strategy, International Business, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, with at least 3 years in leadership roles focusing on fintech, remittance services, or financial services.
    • Demonstrated success in driving significant revenue growth in international markets; experience in African financial landscapes is a strong advantage.
    • Proven track record of onboarding and managing partnerships with global fintech players and payment service providers.
    • Strong knowledge of cross-border payment systems, digital wallets, mobile money ecosystems, and emerging fintech trends.
    • Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
    • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the fintech and remittance sectors.
    • Exceptional ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of professionals, fostering collaboration and high performance.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify long-term opportunities and develop actionable plans.
    • Proven expertise in building and maintaining relationships with senior-level executives and decision-makers in fintech and remittance sectors.
    • Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of financial performance, business planning, P&L management, and ROI analysis.
