    Principal Legal Officer - (2022/EA/01)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:

    • Guiding the formulation, review and implementation of policies and strategies on litigation and all matters relating to the law;
    • Issuing instructions to an agreement and contract defaulters; coordinating the development and implementation of legal agreements and contracts in liaison  withrelevant departments, divisions, and units;
    • Monitoring compliance with the legal framework, agreements, and contracts;
    • Preparing and vetting of contracts;
    • Supervising the implementation of litigations issues; initiating periodic legal reviews of the Service and other relevant rules in liaison with the State Law Office and other relevant agencies; and
    • Coordinating research on emerging legal issues.
    • Preparing legal opinions on cases and matters relating to legal notices
    • Initiating periodic legal reviews of the Fund and other relevant rules in liaison with the State Law Office and other relevant agencies; and researching emerging legal issues.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    • At least six (6) years relevant work experience in the Public Service or Private sector, three of which must be in a supervisory position;
    • Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • An advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
    • Current Law Practicing Certificate;
    • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Proficiency in Computer applications;
    • Be a member of a relevant professional body;
    • Demonstrated results in work performance; and
    • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.

    Principal ICT Officer - (2022/EA/02)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:

    • Managing the overall ICT services and implementing comprehensive ICT disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
    • Initiating the development and review of ICT strategy, plans, policies, systems and procedures.
    • Overseeing implementation of ICT policies, strategies and procedures.
    • Ensuring timely adoption, implementation, and compliance with the ICT Authority recommended Standards, circulars, and relevant international ICT standards.
    • Recommending to Management emerging ICT solutions and best practices to enhance service delivery.
    • Overseeing the design and review of ICT architecture, networks and documenting internal ICT standards, policies and procedures.
    • Recommending to management ICT specification and standards for acquisition, implementation and management of ICT systems and infrastructure.

    • Overseeing the administration of Servers, e.g. Domain Controllers, Active Directory and Exchange Server.
    • Ensuring that all ICT systems upgrades are fully tested and operational before signoff handover to the users.
    • Managing licensing issues with ICT providers and ensuring full implementation of all maintenance Contracts and related Service Level agreements.
    • Providing technical support and solutions on Server administration and performing troubleshooting analysis.
    • Keeping abreast with developments in ICT and recommending relevant strategies and programmes to management.
    • Initiating and managing the monitoring and evaluation of ICT projects to meet the goals of the Service.
    • Liaising with Human Resources on ICT user application training and delivering ICT user training.
    • Developing work plans, relevant reports on the periodic review of all ICT equipment and systems requirements to management; and
    • Ensuring prudent use of all resources within the Division.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    • At least six (6) Years work relevant work experience, three (3) of which should be in Supervisory role;
    • Bachelors degree in IT or Computer Science or a related field from a recognized institution;
    • Membership to a professional body in good standing;
    • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Proficiency in Computer systems and application;
    • Demonstrated results in work performance; and
    • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

    Principal Marketing Communication Officer - (2022/EA/03)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:

    1. Advising Chief Executive Officer/Director and the Board on policies, strategies and procedures for carrying out campaigns, awareness creation and sensitization.
    2. Initiating development of communication, marketing, advocacy and branding strategy for KENAS.
    3. Advising on clear lines and channels of both internal and external communication;
    4. Organizing events, activities and forums for promoting accreditation in Kenya, the region and globally and the use of accreditation marks.
    5. Liaising with other departments to design and package information for dissemination.
    6. Developing advocacy and education campaigns.
    7. Enhancing the image of KENAS to promote the competence of accredited conformity assessment bodies.
    8. Organizing events and exhibitions, publications, website content, social media, media, to promote awareness of KENAS accreditation and its equivalence under the mutual recognition arrangement.
    9. Organizing events and exhibitions, publications, website content, social media, media, to promoting recognition of accredited bodies by users of conformity assessment.
    10. Enhancing KENAS visibility through education, sensitization programs, billboards, advertising, publicity and marketing activities.
    11. Advising on and coordinating corporate social responsibility activities.
    12. Managing media relations.
    13. Organizing stakeholders’ forums.
    14. Crisis communication management and response in line with KENAS corporate guidelines.
    15. Editing, reviewing and providing support in design, production and distribution of newsletters, annual reports, speeches, publication, website contents, reports and audio-visual production of accreditation publication.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    1. At least six (6) years working experience in the public and private sector; three (3) of which must have been a supervisory role;
    2. Bachelors Degree in Communication, Commerce (Marketing Option), International Business, International Relations, Marketing and any other relevant discipline;
    3. Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    4. Demonstrated results in work experience;
    5. Proficiency in Computer applications;
    6. Demonstrated results in work performance; and
    7. Fulfils the requirement of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution

    Accreditation Officer, Inspection and Verification - (2022/EA/04)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:

    • Implementing, policies procedures for maintenance of an internationally recognized management system for accreditation.
    • Assessing conformity assessment bodies for competence.
    • Updating the register of the accreditation status of conformity assessment bodies.
    • Developing materials for promoting the use of regional and international accreditation marks on certificates or reports issued by conformity assessment bodies.
    • Reviewing and commenting on national, regional and international documents, standards and regulations.
    • Collecting and collating the client’s feedback on accreditation activities

    Accountant - (2022/EA/05)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:

    • Verifying, sorting, code and upload invoices into the ERP financial system for cheque processing
    • Managing accounts Payables and accounts Receivables.
    • Managing imprests and its accounting.
    • Reconciling accounts payable transactions.
    • Participating in external and internal Audits and ensuring its effective implementation of recommendation.
    • Filing statutory returns to comply with the relevant laws and regulations pertaining to financial management.
    • Preparing and submission of financial, accounting, management reports.
    • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual sectional reports.
    • Generating and send out Invoices.
    • Carrying out debt collection and inform on the status.
    • Preparing budgets and provide periodic financial reports.
