    Intern - Donor Relations

    The intern will:

    • Conduct research on potential donors and funding opportunities, including identifying new prospects and analyzing donor trends and patterns.
    • Conduct desktop research on key donors, namely their ODA history and priorities.
    • Assist in updating Donor Mapping tool.
    • Assist in tracking correspondences to donors, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
    • Assist in archiving donor correspondences, files, emails, and other communications in a structured manner.
    • Assist in developing donor communication materials such as proposals, reports, and newsletters, ensuring high-quality content.
    • Update donor reporting calendar status, ensuring accuracy and incorporating project donor reporting status changes promptly and efficiently
    • Support in event organization, including logistical planning, coordination, and execution.

    Qualifications/special skills

    • Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
    • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher),
    • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent),
    • Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
    • Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
    • Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
    • Preferred areas of study: International relations, Communications, Marketing, International development, Diplomacy, Business management, or a related social science field. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
    • However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme.

    Regional Coordinator Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia

    The consultant will complete the following outputs:

    • Coordination: Oversee and coordinate the implementation of the project activities across the pilot cities, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
    • Manage logistical aspects of project activities, including workshops, trainings, and meetings, in collaboration with the EECA and LHSS teams.
    • Monitor progress against project goals and provide regular updates to UN-Habitat’s EECA team and LHSS.
    • Stakeholder mapping and engagement:
    • Identify and map key stakeholders, including local governments offices and agencies,NGOs, private sector actors, and other relevant partners in the pilot cities, as well as the region at large.
    • Facilitate outreach and build partnerships to advance project objectives.
    • Support to data collection and analysis:
    • Coordinate with UN-Habitat’s substantive officers to ensure the quality of data collection and analysis conducted by local technical experts.
    • Support the selection and onboarding of local technical experts in the pilot cities.
    • Conduct initial quality assurance of technical outputs before submission for final review by UN-Habitat Headquarters.
    • Facilitation of capacity building and peer learning:
    • Support need assessment for capacity building and peer learning among regional partners
    • Organise and facilitate hybrid peer-learning events, ensuring logistical readiness and effective participation from regional stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with technical experts to ensure the smooth delivery of workshops and training sessions.
    • Support regional synergy and collaboration among pilot cities through networking and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
    • Reporting and documentation:
    • Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to the development of project documentation, ensuring alignment with UN-Habitat’s standards.
    • Maintain clear records of project activities, stakeholder engagements, and outcomes.

    Qualifications/special skills

    • An advanced university degree (Master Degree or equivalent) in architecture, housing, urban planning, urban development and management, development studies, public administration, economy or a related field is required.
    • A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in urban development, with a focus on housing, urban, social, economic, or development issues.
    • Proven expertise in housing and urban development is essential, along with strong writing skills and a solid understanding of urban development and sustainable development agenda issues.
    • The candidate should possess excellent coordination, organizational, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and manage partnerships. Knowledge of the socio-political and housing contexts in the EECCA region is an asset.
    • Experience working with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or on urban-rural linkages and regional development is highly desirable. Familiarity with UN processes is an advantage.
