We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive HR & Admin Assistant to provide administrative support to our busy team. The Assistant will support recruitment processes, employee onboarding, maintain employee records, and handle day-to-day HR inquiries, as well as providing other administrative support.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A related educational background and experience is required.
• You need to be well organised and familiar with relevant policies, practices and systems.
• You will be comfortable with information technology.
• Your written and spoken English must be excellent and good Kiswahili is a distinct advantage.
• You must be able to deal with colleagues and members of the public in a professional and pleasant way that creates a good impression of the organisation.

Our Animal Care Givers are the heart and soul of our work. A thousand animals find safety with us every night in our shelters across Kenya, and the Animal Care Givers are there to look after them. They clean and feed the animals, care for them when they are sick, and keep them exercised. They also assist with field work, helping Field Officers to rescue animals.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• If you are interested, you must be able to show us that you understand animal care and that you are able to provide that care, whether to dogs, cats, donkeys or other animals.
• You also need to show us that you really care about animals and that you can treat them with love and respect, helping them to feel safe and build trust.
• You have to be the kind of person that can't rest if they know the animals in their care need something.
• If you have experience in animal care, positive training or handling that will be an advantage.
• You must be able to work in English and Kiswahili and be able to a physically demanding job, We look after animals 7 days a week and so you must be able to work shift patterns that will include weekends and public holidays.

Our Field Officers are on the frontline of KSPCA's work. They are out in communities, building relationships, educating and supporting. They also investigate abuse complaints and get tough when the law has been violated. They deal with distressing and even dangerous incidents, and will need to make critical decisions in difficult moments.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• They might wade through flood water to help a stranded cat, safely contain a suspected rabies case or deal with a serious criminal matter.
• They need to handle disagreements calmly and talk to many different kinds of people with respect.
• If you are interested, you will need to demonstrate skills or experience related to animal welfare and animal handling.
• An animal health or law enforcement background would be an advantage.
• You will have to be able to show us that you can fit in different environments and communicate effectively.
• You must be able to keep a cool head and make clear judgements.
• You must be well organised and able to pay attention to details like the law.
• You must be a very honest and reliable person.
• You must be able to work in English and Kiswahili, to be able to manage basic paperwork and have a valid driving licence.
