    Database Administrator

    The Database Administrator will ensure performance monitoring and management of database, data warehouse components, supporting infrastructure and general ICT systems.

    Key Responsibilities.

    • Installing database management systems (DBMS) using best practice; ensure compliance with DBMS license agreements and maintain upgrades and critical patches.
    • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies i.e indexing and query tuning to ensure efficient data access.
    • Implement and manage database security, including user access control, roles, permissions, and encryption, in line with security policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitoring including systems logs, events and event correlation, maintaining performance statistics and setting baseline statistics.
    • Monitoring and managing the high availability components including RAC, Data guard, RMAN, ASM and the underlying infrastructure for mission critical databases.
    • Take lead role in the various I.T. audits in providing necessary information and enforcing closure of audit, change management and compliance issues.
    • Creating and maintaining database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata) and maintain all technical documentation relating to database management.
    • Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
    • Conduct user training and provide information on revised and new applications.

    Minimum Requirements.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline from a recognized institution.
    • A minimum of three (3) years in database technology with experience deploying database and data warehousing technologies (e.g. High Availability, Real Application Clusters, ESBU Backups, Partitioning, Oracle DataGuard) in production environments.
    • Oracle DBMS 11g/12c OCP certification as well as strong SQL and PLSQL skills including data warehouse objects such as partitioning and materialized views.

    Risk and Compliance Officer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a risk management strategy and monitor implementation of the Sacco’s strategic plan to prevent, eliminate and mitigate operational risks.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of a risk monitoring and reporting framework.
    • Identify emerging risks that present new regulatory, fraud or money laundering risks. This includes risks associated with new products and services, customer types, geographies and channels.
    • Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures.
    • Perform compliance audits both internal and external and ensure adherence to all internal operations and evaluate all procedures to maintain accuracy with all internal standards.
    • Maintain a risk register based on the identified applicable laws and regulations, fraud schemes and Proceeds of Crime Act and Anti Money Laundering considerations.
    • Conduct risk assessment for proposed and existing units.
    • Creating business continuity plans to limit risks.
    • Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the Sacco.
    • Provide guidance and advice to management on emerging operational, legal and regulatory compliance matters.
    • Participate in the review of internal controls and strengthen processes to ensure proper checks and balances.
    • Provide advise to management on risk and compliance issues.

    Minimum Requirements.

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in any Business related courses/Risk Management/Computer Science and ICT or related field from a recognized university.
    • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CISA, CRISC, CISM or other risk related field. Certification in ICT security, Audit and Risk Management and or other relevant training shall be an added advantage.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of ERM concepts, operations and ICT risk management concepts.
    • A minimum of three (3) years working experience in a financial institution especially in the Banking Sector, Audit, Risk Management and/or Compliance Practices

    Call Center Agent

    The job holder is responsible for execution of call center operations to ensure excellent customer service, effective communication and member engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide personalized and quality service to customers.
    • Handle escalated customer issues and complaints effectively and develop and implement strategies to enhance member satisfaction.
    • Ensure timely and professional communication to members via phone, email, WhatsApp and social media platforms.
    • Generate and analyze call center performance reports, including call volumes, response times and customer satisfaction metrics.
    • Develop FAQs and call scripts for the call center team to ensure consistent communication.
    • Managing Sacco’s social media platforms, responding to enquiries and comments and engaging with members.
    • Plan and execute social media campaigns across all platforms and manage email campaigns.
    • Oversee content creation for social media platforms, develop social media posting schedule, campaigns and insights to promote the Sacco’s products and services.
    • Manage the Sacco’s website, ensuring content is updated, monitor website analytics and user behavior, optimizing for increased engagement and improved user experience.
    • Conduct member satisfaction surveys via calls, emails and social media platforms and analyze results and provide recommendation for improvement.

    Qualifications.

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication and Public Relations from a recognized institution.
    • A minimum of two (2) years working experience in a similar role.
    • Thorough knowledge of Customer service and public relations principles

    Teller

    The job holder will be responsible in ensuring smooth execution of teller services at the Head Office and Branch by providing day to day over the counter transaction service to Sacco members.

    Key responsibilities

    • Carry out over the counter transactions in terms of cash/cheque according to the laid down Policies and Procedures.
    • Maintain authorized cash limit for a Teller when performing tellering roles.
    • Ensure daily reports are captioned and reconciled as per the schedule of reports.
    • Prompt reporting on cash limits and timely clearance of excess cash.
    • Ensure cash security policy and procedure is adhered to.
    • Comprehensively and satisfactorily attend to all customer’s/member’s inquiries.
    • Providing feedback to management on improving the efficiency of the customer service process.
    • Ensure all member/customer personal details are properly captured and updated within the system as per the Policy before any transaction is done.

    Minimum Requirements.

    • Diploma in Finance/Accounting/Banking/Co-operative Management/ Business Administration (Accounting or Finance) or any relevant business related qualifications from a recognized institution.
    • Proficiency in computer applications.
    • Any relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.

    Accounts Assistant

    The job holder will be responsible for proper and correct upto date maintenance of accounts and other financial records.

    Key responsibilities

    • Ensure that all over deductions/refunds, death claims and withdrawals are properly and promptly processed.
    • Keep safely and in an orderly manner all the byproducts and returns from the employer.
    • Advise and alert the Finance Officer on any process/system weaknesses, adjustments and any other matter on maintenance of the MPAs.
    • Review of monthly reports/schedules on shares, loans and interest accrued and advise the Finance Officer accordingly.
    • Comprehensively and satisfactorily attend to customer’s/member’s inquiries.
    • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation for the following transactions;- ATMs, Salaries and check offs, maintain members’ savings, deposits and shares, Journal entries, Bankers cheque, M-pesa, Mobile banking, Paybill and Bank reconciliations.

    Qualifications.

    • Diploma in Finance/Accounting/Banking/Business Administration (Accounting or Finance) from a recognized institution.
    • Must be a holder of CPA Part II.
    • Proficiency in computer applications.
    • Registered Associate member of ICPAK will be an added advantage.
    • A minimum of two (2) years working experience in a similar position preferably in a financial institution.

    Assistant Legal Officer

    The Assistant Legal Officer will provide support in ensuring that the SACCO’s operations are compliant with the relevant laws and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review and draft contracts, agreements and other legal documents to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Provide legal advice and support to various departments within the SACCO.
    • Periodic review of requisite legal documents, by-laws, policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Provision of timely information on review and/or termination of contracts.
    • Effective follow up of all court cases, attend hearings and follow up on judgements.
    • Identification, assessment and mitigation of legal and regulatory risks.
    • Implementation of court awards, judgements and resolutions.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of legal documents, including contracts, agreements and court documents.
    • Ensure that the SACCO’s operations are compliant with relevant laws and regulations including those related to financial services, data protection and consumer protection.
    • Engage with external stakeholders, including the SACCO’s external advocate, regulators and other industry players.
    • Keep track of emerging legislations affecting the Sacco and update the management accordingly.
    • Support the Sacco in settling disputes using Alternative Dispute Resolution to reduce the number of legal matters proceeding to court.

    Minimum Requirements.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized University.
    • Completion of Advocate training from the Kenya School of Law.
    • A minimum of two (2) years post-admission experience with active practice.
    • Good knowledge of laws and regulations governing SACCOs and Financial institutions.
    • Have a current practicing certificate.

    Branch Supervisor

    The job holder will be responsible for the smooth operations of the branch both functionally and administratively.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Administering and interpreting policies and procedures at the branch.
    • Implementing and promoting IG SACCO products and services at the branch.
    • Monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of all branch transactions and generating reports as per the requirement of the Sacco.
    • Monitoring cash levels held at the vault and by tellers on daily basis at the branch.
    • Ensuring effective and efficient customer service delivery and in particular ensuring compliance with the IG SACCO’s Customer Service Charter.
    • Ensuring security of employees, cash and other valuable Society assets and documents at the branch.
    • Ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory, legal and regulatory requirements in execution of branch operations.
    • Act as the Primary custodian of the strong room and treasury
    • Liaising with the function heads and other relevant stakeholders on issues relating to the branch.
    • Ensuring visibility of the branch through branding, marketing and signage
    • Maintain an up-to-date asset register at the branch.
    • Mapping and scoping the business opportunity within the Sacco environs, including profiling the business activities within the locality of the branch to identify potential business opportunities.
    • Timely processing of loans, carrying out loan reconciliations and follow up for recovery of loans granted at the branch.
    • Capturing and enrolling members on biometrics for FOSA transactions at the branch.
    • Ensure retention of the branch membership every year as per the Sacco business plan
    • Provide leadership on matters related to ICT, marketing, finance and customer care at the branch.

    Minimum Requirements.

    • Bachelor’s degree in any business related course from a recognized University.
    • Must be a holder of CPA-K.
    • Certified Professional Banker or other related professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in computer skills.
    • Previous experience of working with an ERP system will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum three (3) years relevant experience at supervisory level in the financial sector.
    • Sound knowledge of SACCO laws and regulations will be an added advantage.

    Marketing Officer

    Overall Responsibility

    • The job holder will be responsible for implementing marketing strategies of the Sacco by acquiring new business and covering all product needs to meet Sacco targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
    • Spearhead all internal and external communications for the business including brand identity, corporate image, media liaison and Public Relations.
    • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives and ensure marketing campaigns are executed within budget limits.
    • Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for the Sacco at an agreed growth oriented annual target and follow through on potential new business opportunities
    • Oversee recruitment of new members by setting up initiatives that will support membership growth.
    • Champion Deposits and Savings mobilization to ensure the Sacco achieve its intended targets.
    • Handling all marketing and public relations activities of the Sacco
    • Promotion of all Sacco products for member uptake
    • Ensure member retention through relationship management, group and company visitation as per the marketing plan and weekly schedules.
    • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media.
    • Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concern.
    • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on Sacco products and services.
    • Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data.
    • Carry out market intelligence and surveys for growth in membership and products uptake.
    • Participate on behalf of the Sacco in exhibitions or conferences.
    • Cross selling and up selling of Sacco products and services to existing and potential members.

    Minimum Requirements.

    • A Bachelor’s degree in any business related field with a bias in Sales/Marketing/Public Relations from a recognized institution.
    • A minimum of three (3) years working experience in a similar role.
    • Professional membership of MSK and CIM will be an added advantage.
    • Thorough knowledge of sales and marketing principles, brand, product and service management.
