Role Description
- This is a contract role for an Underwriting Assistant in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Underwriting Assistant will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing insurance applications, evaluating risks, and making underwriting decisions. They will also provide customer service to policyholders and communicate underwriting decisions with insurance agents. This is an on-site role.
Qualifications
- Analytical Skills and Underwriting experience
- Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills
- Knowledge of Insurance concepts and industry standards
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field is preferred
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g. COP, Dip. in Insurance) is a plus

Turnaround Time for Quotation and Quotation Comparison:
- Metric: Average time taken to generate and compare quotations for specific policies.
- Target: 95% of quotations and comparisons completed within 24 hours of request receipt.
Data Policy Adherence and Implementation Progress:
- Metric: Compliance rate with the clean data policy and progress in implementing initiatives for data collection, storage, and analysis.
- Target: Maintain 100% adherence to the clean data policy and demonstrate measurable progress in implementing data initiatives quarterly.
Renewal Retention and Sales Goals:
- Metric: Renewal retention rate and achievement of cross-sales and upselling targets.
- Target: Achieve 100% renewal retention rate and exceed quarterly cross-sales and upselling goals by 10%.
Customer-Centric Response Time:
- Metric: Average response time to emails and phone calls for resolving pending items.
- Target: Respond to 95% of customer inquiries within 24 hours and resolve pending items within 48 hours.
Problem-Solving and Initiative Implementation:
- Metric: Number of independently resolved issues and implemented progressive initiatives.
